OldTrucker Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Calling it finished. White on decklid is off a bit but after several tries it is what it is. 8
happy grumpy Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Very cool corvair. I like the red interior and the subtle weathering on the underside. A beautiful car with an undeserved reputation. Well done
espo Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Great clean looking paint and interior combination. I like the stance and the wheels look good.
TransAmMike Posted March 22, 2022 Posted March 22, 2022 Really cool Corvair Johnny. Kinda humerous story...back in 70 when my now wife was in her late teens she wanted to buy a Corvair Convertable. Her mother wouldnt help her buy it because she said it was too dangerous....but she did let her buy a 4-speed '66 GTO Convertable??
Bainford Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Good looking Corvair. Nice build of a cool and interesting car. Well done.
bisc63 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Very nice job; a good clean build. Looks right on, very realistic. Love red interior for white cars!
Snake45 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Clean build, pretty cool! Nice stance. Well done and model on!
Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 23, 2022 Posted March 23, 2022 Nice Corvair! This one's on my to get list!
Zippi Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 Good looking Corvair. Reminds me of the Corvair and VW my father in-law used to have. Nice job.
ClassicDarts Posted March 24, 2022 Posted March 24, 2022 (edited) Very nice! Do these kits go together well? I ask because my brother got me a late 80's "Prestige" issue of this kit for Christmas this past year (with the side windows included and the plastic base and pen holder) Haven't started it yet and don't know when I will, but I'm looking forward to it. (Without knowing this, I got my brother an MPC '84 Dodge Daytona and Lindberg '64 Dodge 330 for Christmas... he built the Daytona as the red and black one from "The Wraith". I knew he'd appreciate it but didn't necessarily think he'd go with the Wraith look for it. But it's pretty awesome that he did.) ...I would've got a Johan '64 Polara instead of the Lindberg 330 for accuracy, if they weren't ridiculously expensive. Edited March 25, 2022 by ClassicDarts
lazlow Posted March 25, 2022 Posted March 25, 2022 looks great. I cant see any difference in the paint. Did that kit come with the scoops or is that something you came up with, it's cool. Never saw real one like that.

It has two cutouts in that hood that you would use flaps in for the rally build.
