This is the 4th installment in my "Cars I used to Own" series.

It is as accurate to the real thing as my memory could make it.

The doors are being 3d printed someday but since will be displayed open anyway calling it done for now.

Details can be found in the WIP section.  For anybody reading this in the future (well my future your present if you are reading this years from now) here it is

With no further ado...

Enjoyed watching all the interior work you did on this, especially the wood paneling. Basic clean exterior and a great hangout inside.

Ironically enough getting that basic exterior to have just the right amount of wear and tear was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. It needed to be blotchy in areas without having obvious differences between them, the roof and a couple of small areas on the sides needed to have cracked but not peeling paint and I had to add a couple of subtle door dings that didn't just look like stuff in the paint. Not to mention 1/24 scale swirl marks! You would think that would be easy but it took at least 5 try's to get something that wasn't way over scale or almost invisible. I wish I had pictures of the real thing to show just how close it actually is but if any ever existed they are long gone now.

It's the little details that mean a lot to you and no one else would realize what they are seeing.

Very kewl looking Ford Van.  It was either a 64 or 66 that my older brother had with 3 on the tree that I learned to drive on.

Nice to see your completed van, it looks great.  I can appreciate all the details; the military gear (especially the rolled beret), the opening side doors, and the surprise opened rear door windows (missed that in the WIP).  The memories you recalled while working on this had to be part of the fun.  Thanks for sharing.

Cool project Tony. Your wip had me hooked. Your build brings back memories of being driven to school in one of these back in 1979/80 when my family lived in Vancouver BC for a year. Again, cool build and an awsome amount of detail. Well done.

Cheers,

David. ??

Hi Tony!

Great truck! My first "car" was a '64 Econoline, swb, just like yours. Bought it at 16, took two years to rebuild and "customize it", debuted it and sold it within 30 days to a guy who was looking for a ready-made "California van". Souvenirs...
