Hi, Lee!  I was just reading this thread for the first time when I ran across your post.  That is my Stutz Black Hawk ?.  Not wanting to hijack this thread but if you would like to see more of it, there are WIP and Under Glass threads on it.  It is a great kit and I really enjoyed building it.  The model has done well in contests and has been the banner picture for UpScale Hobbies Model Builders FB group for the last couple of years.

Cool! I’ll look it up. I wanted one so bad back in the ‘90s when it was in production. I couldn’t afford it then. A few years ago, I saw one on eBay and treated myself. Input in a big bid but got it for about 90 bucks.

I actually found one of those Transtar kits in a thrift store recently.  Box was a little rough but the parts are still in bags.  I’m not a big rig guy but I couldn’t pass it up.  Might build it with a car hauler someday…

Nice! Nope, not something you should pass up!? It's a great kit! Nice find!

This has really been a cool thread!!!!!

This kit may be a stretch of the topic....but follow me!!!!!

It is a plastic 1/25 model of a automotive assembly ROBOT!  So if I built it......maybe it could help me build models?!?!?!?!?

I've got one!   Along with a UMI decal sheet that is very useful for some minor marking variations.  Got it from Happico before he went out of business.

'57 Buick Roadmaster body in styrene. Argentine knockoff of the original AMT promo; the promo bumpers and rear trim fit well. Using '58 Buick interior and chassis.

'64 Continental sedan, complete and unbuilt in the box.

'67 Chevy pickup, unbuilt in box (traded off the wrecker parts).

Wait, what? Never heard of such a thing but would love to know more. Can we see what's in the box pleeeeeze? Does it predate the '58 3-in-1 kits?

I'm pretty sure it predates the '58 kits, guessing it was issued in '56 or '57. No hard evidence and no copyright dates, though. Contents looks like this:

The red sheet is a pre-cut acetate sheet with a lot of geometrical shapes. Unsurprisingly, the styling clay is rock hard.....

A couple of different instructions are included.

That Thunderbird kit is great.

I guess this would be my rarest kit in my collection. The box has seen better days but the parts are complete and the decals look to be in good shape. I’m saving this one until I improve my skills to do it justice.

May I suggest you look for aftermarket decals and keep them well packed.  The blue decals in this kit (as well as he Fred Cady version) are too dark.

The decals are available if you want to get another set. I got a resin body from Greg Wann to build one of these, an old high school friend has a real 1:1 67 pace car and it's on my list of cars to build! Nice old kit there!

I have two original (only time ever issued, in fact) MPC kits . . . one is sealed inside and outer seal.

I also have a half dozen of Greg Wann's spectacular resin copies of this kit.  [I kinda talked him into doing it. He's sold a ton of them . . . way more than I told him he would sell when I was pitching the idea to him!]

One of them is nearly finished -- just needs final assembly.

Another one is being converted to the 'beak' version.

Love me some Cosma Ray!!

Oooh! Oooh!  Mr. Kotter!!!  I'm fortunate enough to have a couple of these also!!  Super rare.

Another rarity I'm proud to have acquired is a Missing Link 1911 Chevy kit. Super rare and super cool!

I built up an early All American Models 1956 Studebaker President 2 door sedan. It was mastered by Juha Airo.  Forty-ish years old and still one of my favorites.

Here’s a rare bird - Christian Gouel is a really good French modeler - last i checked he still had an active website - his large scale builds look great - bout 20 years ago he offered / sold small batches of 24th scale grand prix kits - this is the Lotus 33 - its worth getting if you can find one - that won’t be easy - but be prepared to make some major corrections - example - the shape and size of the cockpit opening on the bodywork is all wrong - i do like the nickel plating on the suspension parts  trees - and the photo-etched parts are relief etched for greater detail -and the decal sheet is first rate -  i’ve never seen one built on the forum  - have i missed that ??

This AMT '66 Impala. Still remember getting it for Christmas when I was a kid and would like to have it again for nostalgic reasons.

Also want any European racing truck model. Never been to ebay but I suppose if I did I might find something but I read several times that prices can be ridiculous so don't need to bother.

I built this kit when AMT first released it. Not as good as the Revelle issues of the last couple of years but was a good kit for the time. Used it to build a copy of my then new '66 Impala SS.
