NOBLNG Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 (edited) This is a mashup of the AMT American Graffiti T-Bird and a Revell Super Stallion Mustang. The engine, differential and interior are from the Mustang…with a few modifications.? I removed the rear fender skirts and emblems and smoothed the body. Bumpers are scratch built, and the wheels are from the Foose Impala. Exterior paint is Testors Aztek turquoise and Tamiya grey primer with Mr. hobby clear. Interior is Tamiya LP-14 and AK aquatic turquoise. Thanks for looking! Build thread: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/176915-sve-t-bird/ Edited March 17, 2024 by NOBLNG 13
espo Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Beautiful looking paint colors and finishes. The body work is very subtle but give the body a much newer look. The chassis and engine changes as well as the interior look great as well. 1
customline Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 You can certainly be proud of this baby 'Bird, Greg. All the elements blend perfectly. Very impressive ? 1
Zippi Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Good looking 56 Thunderbird there Greg. Love those wheels & tires. A friend of ours that goes to the Cruise-in's with us has a black 56. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Very slick! Cool and clean T-Bird. Nice work. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Looks great...especially considering that there are those who insist the '57 Bird is a horrible, unbuildable kit even just OOB. 1
AMT68 Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Great looking build and color combination. And I really like what you've done with the Foose wheels. 1
Steve H Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 Hi Greg! You have built some very nice models, this one is my favourite for sure. Absolutely love it, colours, stance, wheel/tire choice, the added detail… You blended the two cars seamlessly into a very nice looking ‘Bird. The engine looks like it was made for this car. ?? Cheers, Steve 1
LennyB Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Greg, it looks amazing. All the random bits blend together so well. And the color combo, you nailed it. ? 1
bobthehobbyguy Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Nicely done. The beauty of a classic with modern horsepower.. Great color choices. 1
NOBLNG Posted March 17, 2024 Author Posted March 17, 2024 Thank you everyone!? I had fun doing it and it was actually a relatively easy conversion.

Thanks Bill…but it is a ‘56 and a nice kit. I have no idea how bad the ‘57 kit is.?♂️ Edited March 17, 2024 by NOBLNG 1
XYHARRY Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Your Tbird is a seamless blend of old and new, really well done Greg. Cheers, David. ?? 1

David G. Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 I really like the wheels and the color combination you used for the interior. That engine though ? ! That engine would make for one scary sleeper! Fabulous work! David G. 1
Spottedlaurel Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 Excellent concept and execution, it works really well! 1
