Bilingham Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 The dash in place. note the leather dood pulls, bizarre oil pipes snaking across the passenger foot well, the shifter. Really coming along. 6
Big John Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 Spectacular detail pretty much covers it! Do the seat belt buckles actually work? Thank you so much for sharing! 1
BK9300 Posted September 18, 2024 Posted September 18, 2024 I agree - all the detail is incredible - didn't realize wire existed in diameters that small! The engine compartment sure looks real. 1

Thank you so much for sharing! No, the buckles don't work, but they are designed to have very realistic dimensions. 1
Randy D Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Hi Bill, You are doing a wonderful job with this one!!!! The whole rear end is awesome and the interior looks great. Randy 1

Bugatti Fan Posted September 28, 2024 Posted September 28, 2024 Lovely model Bill 3D Printing has certainly revolutionised parts manufacture by enabling people to design and make their own kit of parts for a model to very high definition far in excess of that from conventional moulding methods. 1
Bilingham Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 The seatbelts are prints. This is the first time I've tried this, and the results are pretty cool. 5 1
Mattilacken Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Such a great build! Great details you are putting in to it! Like the belts you made. those shapes hare always tricky to get right!
Big John Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Yeah the seat belt print is sweeet! Do you have color printing capabilities (the tech is out there) even so the build base does make a convenient way to hold the small parts for painting.

No, they were printed black, sprayed with white lacquer, spayed again with charcoal gray acrylic. When dry, rhe gray was selectively removed from the stitching and the lettering with alcohol and a Q-tip. 1
Bilingham Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 The P70 is almost ready for it's debut at the ACME Southern Nationals in Atlanta. A couple of additional decals and it's finisned. 3
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Besides the stunning quality of the work, the how-to info is very much appreciated. Wonderful stuff. PS: Are you going to be at the ACME meeting this coming Saturday?
89AKurt Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 This is one of those HOLY COW builds. ? I've not been active building or lurking on the forum, so I need to spend some time checking this one out!

Big John Posted October 9, 2024 Posted October 9, 2024 For those who think there isn't a lot or work done before printing your 'kit' even before doing the hands on immaculate detail and finish work. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 11, 2024 Posted October 11, 2024 (edited) I saw this up close at Saturday's ACME meeting, and it is absolutely staggering. Work of this caliber represents a whole new level of excellence in scale-modeling. It's the ultimate combination of state-of-the-art "technology" with every "traditional" model-building skill. While few of us can hope to ever achieve results like this, every one of us should be inspired to do the best we can with what we have, and never stop improving. Bilingham Posted October 27, 2024 Author Posted October 27, 2024 Well guys, I took the P70 to the ACME Southern Nationals on Saturday. I received a "top ten" award, and the "Excellence in Modelling" award. Very gratifying. 3
