Can-Con Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Finally got it done up yesterday evening. It's the very old MPC kit from the '60s that I was gifted from Steve-O many years ago. Basically a reasonably simple rebuild. Stock body, no mods. The rear door window area was pretty damaged so the rear doors were replaced courtesy of Steve Curbishly who sent me a replacement pair. I lowered the suspension by swapping the axles from below the springs to above and trimming some material from the spring mounts. I widened the stock wheels and shaved the spokes for a better look. Engine is the OHC Pontiac 6 from the MPC '69 Firebird kit built stock with plug wires added. Paint is Duplicolor GM Cordova brown metallic. All chrome was redone with Revell spray except the front bumper which I did with BMF to see how much difference there would be. First, a couple "before" pics and the "after" ,,,And here's a link to the build album with more pics,, https://public.fotki.com/SteveMilberry/projects/32-chev-sd/ 11
ColonelKrypton Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Very nice. I like the idea of the before and after; the evolution of a '32 Chevy delivery from working vehicle to a daily driver custom. cheers, Graham 1
DJMar Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Looks great! I love the before & after views. The color is perfect for this build, it just fits. 1
espo Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Beautiful looking paint color and finish. Like the Pontiac OHC engine idea. The body trim finish and the stance look great. Wish someone would reissue this era of Chevrolets. 1

Phildaupho Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 Great looking delivery. I like this a lot. Well done. 1
TarheelRick Posted July 31, 2024 Posted July 31, 2024 That is one beautiful transformation. Really like that color, it shows those beautiful body lines so well. Great build. 1
ncbuckeye67 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 Wow, what a transformation! I love a good restoration. It seems to give me more satisfaction from that than building a brand-new kit. 1
NOBLNG Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 That turned out absolutely beautiful Steve!? I like the use of a straight six as opposed to the standard sbc. I also like what you did with the stock wheels, low profile tires and suspension work to get that stance. Very cool!? 1
slusher Posted August 3, 2024 Posted August 3, 2024 Turned out beautiful Steve, great color, stance. and wheels. Your hard work shows beautifully.. 1
Dennis Lacy Posted August 4, 2024 Posted August 4, 2024 So rad to see one of these get built. Looks awesome! 1
Chuck Most Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Saw this and gave a like react when you first posted it, but I didn't say anything because I was speechless. ? Certainly not a color I would have used myself, but the pictures don't lie... It works on this. The large diameter wheels and OHC Pontiac power go pretty hard too. This would be a nice one to see reissued, especially since Round 2 has spent the last few years proving that "the tooling was changed" is no longer a valid excuse for not bringing something back to market. 2
Rattlecan Dan Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 Very nice build. Great transformation. Looks pretty cool now. 1
stavanzer Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Jaw Dropping Build! You can sure turn out a Masterpiece , Steve! 1
