avidinha Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I built this from an AMT kit. I modified the kit grill, used wheels from an AMT '34 Ford and Bill (Spencer1984), probably doesn't remember because it was so long ago, made me a copy of the plate he made for his. This is one of those builds that kept driving me nuts and I kept putting it back in the box. To give you an idea of how long it took me to actually finish, it was in one of the checkerboard patterned Walmart exclusive boxes that I bought new. So if it looks like it's been sitting around for a while, that's because it has been. 9
Jim B Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Well, you fought the good fight and came out on top in the end. Very nice-looking Ford. It really looks great all around. Now, is this the car from the comic strip or the movie?
Bullybeef Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I have a soft spot for 35-36 fords, they are a beautiful body style, well done on yours sir! The grille is perfect. @Jim B this would be the movie car! 1
bobss396 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Very well done. I have a few of those too, IIRC Toys R Us had a run of those around 1999. I probably have every issue of the '36 less the Flower Power one. I did build that as a kid.
Zippi Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Pretty nice looking Andrew. I build one earlier this year and also the Revell kit. Just love the body style on these old Fords.
ncbuckeye67 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Nice looking build! Black is a hard color to get looking good.
espo Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Your changes to the grill really changes the overall look of your build. Looks more like something other than a Ford. Great paint work and body trim.
crazyjim Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Well done. I have a couple of those kits in the stash.

Then came the day to paint. Did that in study hall too. I guess they don't appreciate paint fumes in school...LOL 1
TransAmMike Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Very nice looking build Andrew...that black looks great!!
Kenmojr Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 (edited) Looks awesome... I believe I heard this is hooding fitting issues with this model. You hood fits quite well. Edited September 10, 2024 by Kenmojr
mrm Posted September 10, 2024 Posted September 10, 2024 Always wanted to build one of those and I still have not. I've heard complaints about fitment issues with these, but it looks like you got it under control. Great looking model. The murdered out all black look is cool and classy and totally my kind of rod.

You hood fits quite well. Thanks. The hood was one of the reasons it went back in the box. I used mod podge to glue the grill and hood sides on so I could manipulate them into position until I got them just right as the glue slowly dried. Edited September 10, 2024 by avidinha 1
spencer1984 Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 That turned out great, especially knowing how difficult that kit can be. Nicely done!
XYHARRY Posted September 12, 2024 Posted September 12, 2024 Great looking 36 there Andrew, I have one in my rebuild queue. Really well done. Cheers, David. ??
