Just got back from the NNL meet in Siberia Waukesha with Tom Piagari and Kevin Pratscher; the weather curtailed a lot of activity at the swap meet. About a third of the vendors didn't show up due to the massive sleet and snow storm, but I still picked up a few goodies very cheap: a started '65 Grand Prix; an aqua '65 Continental sedan promo that had been repainted orange with taxi markings, a Revell reissue Austin Healey opened but bagged inside, and a thoroughly gluebombed '57 T-bird that had a good custom no-scoop hood (the vendor who sold me the Healey threw it in for free).  The Grand Prix will be a roof and glass donor for my '65 Olds Jetstar I project, and the Continental will be stripped and cleaned up to represent the aqua promo I had some 50-odd years ago.

Hope everyone else who went to the show made it home safely!

I bought several kits at the NNL  winterfest (  :P) show in Waukesha on Sunday. I scored one of my grails- the Tamiya BMW FW 24 Formula 1 car- the only 1/20th scale Tamiya  F-1 kit I didn't have. I hadn't even SEEN one in a long while until Sunday. I also got a Tamiya Eggensberger Ford Sierra Cosworth and an Escort Cosworth, a Hasegawa '93 Toyota Celica rally car, a Heller Peugeot 307 rally car, an oddball Heller 1/18 scale 2004 Renault Formula 1 car, a 1/32  scale AMT Surtees Formula 1 kit, some decals and paint. We also stopped at Model Empire since we were so close and I bought a Toyota Cerumo EXIV kit, a die cast Corvette ( think about that for a moment) for a co-worker, and found some old Tru-Match NASCAR  paint there. I think I personally boosted the economy of Wisconsin a good bit with my shopping spree!

Is there a limit to the number of pictures you can post at one time?

This is what I got today. Lots of old parts. I don't know how to proceed with all this stuff. Should I break things down into bags of specific parts? Like Front grills and bumpers. Then rear tail lights and bumpers. Tires in one bag. All the wheels in one bag. Engines in one bag, etc.  There are tons of parts on spurs. Do I detach them all? Some are so old there are not number on the spurs. I have about 8 more photos to add if it's allowed. Any advice would be appreciated. Anything you see you need. Let me know. Lots of screw bottom chassis I have no idea what they fit.

You just put it in a big box and send it to me. Then you don’t have to worry about it.

And the end. Look at the old Testor's paints and the glue. LOL. The truck trailers I have no interest. Free for the cost of shipping. The bottom (or the one on the left as I had to rotate the photos) one is metal.

Another set of the Modelhaus Howard mags for a future build. This makes 2 sets I have.

Also picked up a second Dodge Thundercharger as I want to build both the car in both paint schemes it was seen in.

Got a few Revells in the mail today...never had the ex-Monogram '53 Chevy before--got the current reissue--molded in white!, along w/ an extra Challenger SRT for a Hellcat conversion, the '94 Impala SS reissue (maybe as a parts donor), the most recent reissue of the '80 Bronco (built the molded in orange version 20 years ago), and the most recent reissue of the '94 Dodge Ram VTS (want to use the Challenger Hemi and wheels and tires on it).

Ewetwo, it looks like you've got an early Toronado in there. It would be worth the effort to get that one together--I know several here are looking for one of those. Looks like an original '66 or '67 Riviera, too, that would be nice to see back together again.

You have some definite gold there. I see some original 60's kit parts that were only in the first couple of kit issues and have not been in subsequent issues. Some of those chrome sprues, if they are old (60's), I would not cut them yet. If you were to take pictures that show each sprue clearly and post them in the trade thread, you might be surprised at the trade offers you would get. There are a lot of parts that have been modified or deleted entirely from tooling over the years that people would love to have. Same with the styline (custom) front and rear end parts.

For some of the smaller kits, check ebay under the completed and sold listings. The sold listings will give you a better idea what some of the kits are bringing. Some guys ask high dollars and never sell but the sold for $ amounts are a good indicator. That blue buick kit (1/32?) I think is worth a few bucks if it is mostly complete.

Thank you Snake and Toner. I like the 62 Buick which is incomplete. And there is a 62 ford that I’m Interested in. Also not complete. Could all be there but I don’t know. The 1/32 Buick has been chopped and not complete. But someone might want parts. I will start filming and posting stuff in the trade section. There is a ton of stuff.

Are tou keeping these old paints and glues?

Some are still good. The glue isn't. To be honest. I'd like to get rid of a lot of the stuff. But don't know how to go about  it. I'm retired with a limited income. So postage will kill my budget as there is a lot of stuff here. Ebay is another option but I've never done it. To keep it in the club I was trying to figure out what to do. Either have the club member send me a self addressed shipping package I could send back to them. Or what? Most of the bodies will be offered. Then there is tons of customizing front grills and bumper and rear ends. Tires and slicks up the wazoo. LOL! And I don't really need anything for trade except for parts for the 62 Electra and the 62 red Ford in the pictures.

What are you using the double sided art tape for?

Flea Market Day!  The Tom Daniel "Bad Actor"  '60 Chevy panel is the 1980 issue, all inner bags still sealed. It looks shrink-wrapped but is not, the wrap is slit along the bottom. I'm not sure what I want to do with it, so it may end up in the Trading forum.

One vendor had a table full of old bagged FROG 1/72 kits. I don't build many airplanes, but do appreciate oddball kits like the Fairey Firefly.  And that bag marked "I. M. Models?"  That's the even odder Fairey Gannet ASW plane.  Appears to be the FROG kit in a different bag.  The header card says "International Models, Las Vegas NV."

The FROG Handley-Page Dart Herald in Jersey Airline markings appears to be pretty rare, from a quick internet search.  It has optional standing or sitting pilots and flight attendant.  The kit also came with 2 glass bottles of paint and a tube of glue in the box. The paint and glue are missing in this one, which might be for the best...

The 1:1 scale Walther P-38 is in an AHM box. But appears to be yet another re-box of the good old LS Models kit from the 1970s.

And another vendor had a whole table full of old aviation books.  I had to really restrain myself and my wallet, though his prices were pretty low.  Settled for a history of Republic Aviation, another of Northrop 1929-39 and a book about American airship bases.  The 2 small kid books were published in 1952, and have many photos of the weird experimental Air Force and Navy aircraft, missiles etc. of the early Fifties.  The vintage Harley tin sign was cheap and should look good in the model cave.

Please, no foot pictures. -_-

I picked up a few kits Sunday-- two to re-sell (1/16 Vette & Rat Roaster), two AMT '62 Catalinas for parts, and two Revell '32 Ford Sedans because they aren't coming back any time soon and I want to eventually build one:
