Are there plated parts in that kit?  A number of people have mentioned right here that the "chrome" in late production kits is all just silver plastic...

Got this metal foil in the mail . Never tried it but want to see how it stacks up to BMF .

Be advised that the sheet I got was absolutely horrible. The adhesive is WAY too thick and somewhat soft. It makes the foil surface subject to dents and marring. I have relegated it to masking material duty.

I will check when I open it and get back with you.

Ok , I opened the kit and there is NOT any chrome .  Doesn’t bug me to be honest I would have removed most of it anyway . I had in mind to do a low bug hot rod that a teen may have built in the 50’s .

The way those parts are arranged, I'd bet that in the earliest issues of that kit, the cowl lamps, radiator shell, and fuel tank may have been brass plated.

This box could be 1/3 smaller and it would still be too big.

I'm REALLY interested in that EZ Chrome stuff, Ray.

I will let you know what I think about it when I get a chance to use some Jim.

Just received yesterday.  Great quality and pretty fast on the shipping from up north.  The nitrous tank was a freebie they threw in.

Got five old 1968 issues of Hi Performance CARS magazine from eBay. One of them is one of my favorite issues of any magazine of all time--I have a copy but haven't been able to find it for the last year. It has at least five outstanding feature cars in it, some of which I want to model. Of the other four, one is another copy of the issue that had the writeup of the 1968 CARS Magazine meet that I actually went to, so that's cool, another one's a duplicate of one I have, and the last two are new to me. It' a happy day in the Snakepit! :D

@Cobraman: nice decals. Where did you find them? Ted's (I think I see Ted's yellow finish flag)?

Yes they are from Teds. They are not decals however ( wish they were ) need to be cut out and attached with glue or other adhesives.

Just picked this up for a good price. Complete. My first one of these Galaxie kits! Never got one when they were first out and then couldn't justify the high price. Extremely happy.

I like these a lot and you're correct they weren't cheap . I think this one is the most interesting and I have the Delivery and have built the Aero Sedan.

Good score there Tom. I recently built the Aerosedan myself and have the same Coupe lying in wait in the stash. They are a challenging build but well worth the effort.
