I stopped in a cigar shop today inquiring about the possibility of obtaining some cedar wood veneer. The owner said sure and handed me a really nice stack of them. Surely made my day!

Got this in the mail today. 64 Grand Prix. Brush painted but it is in great shape. My.plan is for something similar to the one I found in a magazine.

Not too bad for a model car that is 57 years old. Nice catch. Be sure to post any progress here to keep us tuned in.

Will do. I got it for $40! Not a bad price.

Great score on the cedar wood too. I'll have to see if I can find a cigar shop in town.

45 years ago or so my dad built a replica of a truck my grandfather drove for Christmas. My grandfather displayed it for years but after a remodel of his house it just disappeared. Well, my grandparents have been gone for 15 years or so and my mom and dad just left the house as it was in Pennsylvania. Well, my dad decided it was time to sell the house so I went back there (I live in Ohio) and see what I wanted as keepsakes.

Low and behold I found the truck in the back of a closet in a box. Many pieces fell off but seem to all be present in a little tin in the box. I will be returning to hopefully locate the trailer which was hand painted by my dad.

Plans are to just clean it, attach the missing pieces, find or reproduce the trailer and display it with other items from my grandfathers life that I saved.

Glad you found it Andy.  Great keepsake..

Yesterday I bought this '65 Rambler Classic 770 promo from a friend. Someone has cut the roof off in the past, so some bodywork needs to be done. Anyway, it's a great starting point. I'm thinking factory stock...

Very cool! I've seen these in '41 Willys, but not '33. If it were in 1/24, I'd buy one, but I have no interest at all in 1/18.

I get that but my eyes are telling me to work on larger scales when I can .

Tuesday I needed to get out of the house so I took a ride to Boyertown, PA to a hobby shop called Modelbahn Ot. Interesting old time shop with junk everywhere!  Slant was towards trains and RC but a good representation of models and supplies.

I bought the Nova wagon. And got the Tamiya tape and Semi-gloss clear I actually went there for.. want to finish my Father’s Beetle and squirted my last clear before I was done!

Had to chuckle… this stack of shopworn and faded boxes! Still marked at $20 each!

After hearing that Airfix were doing a re-issue I ordered this and having waited since January this year it arrived yesterday. With my latest regime of not painting the body will main the grey plastic and there will be a riser between the body and chassis to give more ground clearance. Oh and I've ordered another one!

great score, that brush paint will strip easy if it's enamel. I love the inspiration car.

Mailman brought me this cordless airbrush yesterday, I have limited experience with airbrushes about thirty years ago...so we'll see how this goes.

after a little consideration, I may add a small accumulator to this if the pump pulses cause painting issues.
