crazyjim Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 Looks like GSW is superior for chrome. Might have to get some.
A modeler named mike Posted January 26, 2024 Posted January 26, 2024 The last few days by mail.. I have to say that since I've joined this forum my eyes have been open to vehicles I would have never taken a second look at. Ex.. The Isuzu coupe. 1
atomicholiday Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 I got this a few days ago but just unpacked it now. Been fighting a wicked cold all week and really just couldn’t make myself care until today. In an effort to get better pictures of my builds, I picked up this light box. Comes with four different colored backgrounds, and a small tripod. I have some experimenting to do to see what works, but should be fun and get the job done. 5
Twokidsnosleep Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 (edited) I have more kits than brains or lifetime left to build them all, but this new year I decided to do the opposite of restraining and not buying kits I am going to fill in the missing holes of kits I want in collections so, a couple Tamiya F1 1/20 scale cars are coming….the first and I got the old repop‘d Orange Crate kit to see if I can build it better than a pre teen did way back long ago Edited January 27, 2024 by Twokidsnosleep 5
Dpate Posted January 27, 2024 Posted January 27, 2024 These came in today. Got 15 bottles of Mr. Hobby 18ml mixing bottles as i didn't wanna use up my tamiya mixing bottles. 3 bottles of different shades of gold, and gaia being the first bottle I've ever owned of there's. 6

I found the background looked better if taped back to the white box, and the LED lights eventually lost their adhesion so I tied them up with thin fuse wire. 1
wrenchr Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 (edited) I also picked a box up of aftermarket stuff today, 3D print and diorama stuff. I'm going to inventory everthing and will post pics. There was a lot of stuff in this box. Lots of sytrene/evergreen plastruct and a huge stack of decals some parts and a lot of diorama stuff. Edited January 28, 2024 by wrenchr 3
ChrisBcritter Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 Arriving today: Wreckage and parts of a '62 Falcon; gives me just enough added to the parts I have to do a '62 Ranchero conversion. Also a big surprise score at an antique mall in Rancho Mirage: An absolutely cherry '71 Maverick promo that was tagged at about half what nice ones go for on eBay: Never thought I'd find a deal on one. A good day! 7

HomerS Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Monthly swap meet.... Monogram Luv Stepside......missing rims but otherwise complete MPC 1978 Camarp.....missing the race car pieces (won't use them anyway). I know the 1981 is being re-released this year, but I like the '78 hoodscoop and fender vents. There was another 1978 Camarp (Savage), but that green its molded in steered me to the white one. 4

Maybe because there are so many of them. Mustangs have the same effect on me. I grabbed these to see if I can shake the Corvette malaise. Two of favorites by AMT

The green one's actually the '79 annual, Jeff. MPV started using names on the annual kits for a while so they could be kept on the shelves longer without being seen as "old". I think the only difference between them is the '79 has the turbine style factory wheels instead of the 5 spoke Z-28 rally wheels.

I didn't pay close attention to the box art as the chrome tree in this one has the turbine wheels.

Oh, I didn't know that, never had the one you have. I've only seen the box art showing the 5 spoke wheels on the stock buildup. Good to know. Does it have both?
OldNYJim Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 The Amazon fairy came today, couple of new additions to my to-do list… I never picked up one of these the first time(s) around: I’d be curious to know if that box art helps sales or hinders them, compared to the old version with the yellow car on the box… And this has been on my to-build list for a while too - AMT Double Dragster kit: I’m sure I read on here you can almost build three kits out of this one if you wanted, which seems feasible…there’s three frames and three bodies and three engines - a good deal for the $23 delivered I got this for…the Topolino will be a cool companion to the Atlantis/Revell Topolino kit if and when I get to them both… Plenty of build options too! Cool! 2
Straightliner59 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 That Double Dragster is a parts gold mine! 1
PierreR89 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Got a 3d printed "rubber duck" Mack RS700 from ebay. Just need the wheels and the correct trailer for it now, already have the decals for it. It has a duck on the hood and 3 extras incase the one on the hood got damaged during shipping which it was. There are a few small things that needs fixing on it so it looks correct but nothing major. 4

Dpate Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 These came in today. Already had got the bat pod, but seen they had a 1:18 scale so opted to buy and build this one.
Rob Hall Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Got these two built kits from the same seller on eBay. Both restorable and complete (the Vega is missing the steering wheel)—AMT ‘72 Monte Carlo and MPC ‘71 Vega. 2
