Bought this from Art Latski.NNLWest. Built only one nascar model, this kit is pretty good looking. A lot of parts. Might have to try this one.

Have you heard of Girl Math? That's where she rationalizes a purchase, I think. How about Modeler's Math?

So, yesterday we went down to Austin to see our first grandbaby and I had to stop at the nearby HobbyTown. I got the supplies I needed and looked at the car kits for a while. I love German stuff, so I got the Mercedes. That brought my total close to almost $90. That's where Modeler's Math came in.

I remembered I had a coupon for $20 if you spend $100, so I got some more Plastruct I might need some day. Now I had a free $20 to spend so I picked up the GTR kit I'd sort of wanted for a while.

With Modeler's Math, it only cost me $7, right?

The Lamborghini came from my wife's stop at Hobby Lobby for yarn. I didn't need it, but it was too tempting to pass up. I can resist anything except temptation.

I've been avoiding adding to the stash and seriously looking at thinning out what I know I will never build....until I stumbled on a somewhat local auction for an original Revell Herbie.  I kept telling myself 'no' but ended up caving and throwing a one time bid.  I surprised to be the high bidder but even moreso when I wasn't sniped.  I don't know if these would have been bagged inside but it appears complete and was either carefully restacked after opening or never removed from the box.

There’s another kit I never knew existed!  Man you guys find some of the coolest stuff.?

Good deal.. Some sucker on eBay has one kit bid up to $60. Plus $11.70 shipping

Wow!! That kit ended up selling for a whopping $81.00.. That's crazy..

Went to the Zimmerman Driving Museum in SoCal on Saturday. It's a great smaller museum that allows you to open the doors of the cars. Sundays, they give rides. We ended up taking to a docent who gave us an extra tour behind the glass wall. It was really fun hearing what it was like to drive a 20's Packard Limo. In the gift shop they had only one model car on the shelf. The price was right, so I bought it.

I really like that Tamiya Calsonic Skyline GTG-R. From the headlights, it appears to be an R33. With some of the racing GT-Rs, Tamiya didn't alwsays identify what the specific model was. That Mercedes is pretty darned good as well! Your Math makes perfect sense to me.

Old matra Bandai kit. The box is destroyed but the model is ok. Got it really cheap. $20. Sure looks like an old tamiya kit. The kit is motorized. I’m going to put it together that way and see if it works.

some great classics Jeremy…

Thanks Carl.

I've never built the 64 mustang, 64 GTO or the 65 Vette. Looking forward to adding them to my Monogram builds

Bought earlier this month but didn't want to jinx it until it was in my hands:

1/24 Italeri (Revell version) Ferrari 275 GTB 4. Been wanting one for a long time and this one popped up in Germany for only €20; no box and no tracking/insurance on the shipping. Crossed my fingers and it got here OK, and the seller even threw in two little packets of Gummi Bears! It'll be built as perpetual '60s/'70s TV bad guy Peter Haskell's car from the ABC movie Love Hate Love:

Figure I'll do it all banged up from the last chase scene. Already made the fake NY plates, ready to print:

New replacement bottle came in today from scalefinishes. Sprays flawlessly, and still can’t figure out what happened to the first bottle. Either way James is the real MVP.

I resisted "modeler's math" just before Christmas. If I'd spent $10 more, I would have got $25 off the entire purchase...which meant I'd have got more stuff for $15 less.

And I kicked myself all the way home.

There's a lesson in there somewhere.

I think the lesson is that it's always the models you don't buy that you regret! LOL
