That's a cool color.

Yep, gorgeous color. I'll probably also be ordering Mystic Emerald, Icy Blue, Mythical Maroon, and some clear, all as three-packs, as that's about the cheapest per-can price that I can find. Works out to about $5.47 per.

Ray, All Those Cars and not a single Cobra in the Mix! Are you populating a H.O. Layout?

Ya, no Cobra's. : )  Just something different to play around with. Already pre finished little models with about 20 pieces. Pretty detailed with opening doors. 16 different ones for 12 bucks inc. shipping cost. I was curious about them so at less than a buck each I took a shot. When done maybe I can find someone with an HO layout that would like them.

Well, this was a big surprise. This car had been sitting for a week with little action, but it was from that same seller who has a big following. Just before the end I threw out a lowball bid and sat back to watch the feeding frenzy from my fellow piranhas. Figured it would go for double what I bid - instead I won the thing:

'59 Edsel 'vert that looks never to have been sullied by fender skirts, side pipes, antennae, scoops, louvers, extra tail fins, hot lacquer, 80-grit sandpaper or three tubes of glue. Plus it has new Modelhaus wheelcovers, taillights and fender ornaments. Downside: No front or rear bumpers, so I'll be on the lookout... Anybody have a set?

Great piece, been trying to find one of these at the right price forever. Bob Cline on Facebook got your front bumper, rechromed originals. He got

tons of rechromed bumpers for Ford,Mopar and GM.

Bought this last night, should be here soon. Thanks to 59-Desoto on the forum for helping me out.

May I ask where you got them?  I am looking for some exotics to populate an HO layout I have in mind.

Thanks

Aventador, Bentley's, newer Ferraris - 458, F12.  Maybe some Bimmers, although Herpa sells some

This set comes with a Lambo and Ferrari and a Beemer plus a couple of Porsche's. Also has a Alfa, Mini, Range Rover and a van + others. I do believe there are different and smaller sets.

Just got in the mail AMT's 1/48 scale Beechcraft G17S Staggerwing model kit. A model of my all time favorite airplane. I remember building one of these back in the 1980's. It's still a very nice kit. But, like the original they molded it in yellow plastic. I'm going to have to shot it with primer, before painting it the color I want. They've improved the decal sheet to include white stripes, besides the original blue/red ones. The pilot included still has that funky 70's, disco era look to him. Giving the kit part of its charm.

That's a tough one to find Tommy!

Great Find.

Just be mindful of the "brittle" plastic when you build it.

The color that was added to the plastic obviously affected the properties of the styrene.

I'm in the process of building this one right now, & you have to be careful not to break anything.

The body seems pretty solid, I had no problems with that, & the chrome parts are molded in white under the chrome, but everything else can be very fragile.

Thanks for the tip - although I already worked out a trade with Larry Ray for the bumpers. Congrats on getting the '65 Dodge! (Has anyone ever gotten one of those rotating display stands to work properly?)

Hey, Steve, how does that display base turn for 4 hours without batteries?  -a spring?

(not Steve, but...) Even better - a rubber band! I built one according to the instructions (it has ball bearings that need to be lubed with Vaseline) for the Car Craft Dream Rod, which spun right off. Maybe with a heavier model it would work...?

I think it used rubber bands. It was offered in other MPC kits at the time. It would be kind of fun to have one today.

Thanks, Chris!!, shoulda figured a rubber band would do it! ALOT of things like this were done with them back then.

I have one of those around the bench somewhere.  Never really played with it at all.

Yeah, I have the one from this kit too.

Very unlikely I'll ever use it, but here are the instructions.

I too had the Dream Rod, and I got the turntable to work, but it never did seem to work right.

This one showed up yesterday. A decent Johan 1959 Dodge.

I bought it exactly as shown. I could have done better, but I 'm not unhappy with it enough I plan to redo it anytime soon..
