...Aaaaand - the end.

'56 Plymouth interior, '63 Impala taillights, and a few '61 T-bird bits. My best to Don and Carol, and fingers crossed for some angel to swoop down and take over the business.

Has anyone tried masking with these Molotow Chrome Markers? I got one off Amazon a week or so ago, I'm pretty impressed. I underestimated how small 2mm would be. Gonna get the 1mm next, I reckon. I never got  any BMF because I was put off by the cost+hassle.

I went nuts for a few hours and redid some mirrors and trim on already built models. the flow is pretty good. I chromes an injector hat, and waited half an hour to see if it was dry. It wasn't waited the next day and wet sanded it, and re did it. looks great.

1mm is great for emblems - you do need a light touch. One note: The tip on mine dried up after three days (No, I didn't leave the lid off); trimming the end slightly with a fresh X-acto blade got it going again. Now I'll remember to store it vertically, tip down.

It just brings a tear to my eye! :(

It truly feels like the end of an era.

16 total kits however five are vacuum formed, never tried that before. may have to see if I am any good at it.

This past Saturday I went to my LHS as I know that they put kits on clearance in January. So I bought a Hasegawa Mini Countryman Ray package,a Revell Germany BMW M1( which is the old ESCI tool), an Academy Hyundai Azera, and the Revell Tony Nancy 22 jr double kit. I'm sure I'll go back for more as the budget sees fit.

I received my Motolow Chrome pens today. I got the 1 and 2 mm pens. I am quite happy with the purchase. I did some touch up on an old bumper, and the chrome from the pen is better than the kit chrome. I may have to get a 4 mm pen. I ordered them form Amazon on Jan 7, and they came in today from England.

The fe-mail carrier just brought this pair of Hess Training Vans (a/k/a '78 GMC Motorhome, 1/24 scale-ish).  Found them on eBay, sold as a lot for a reasonable price.  One is complete, one only missing a roof light and driver's mirror.  I already have one I bought very cheap at a flea market that's missing the side door, so I have a parts source.  (This is the eBay vendor's photo):

Nice score,

There's a vendor on eBay that has new mirors and doors for these, or at least used to.

Thanks!  Couldn't find that one but will keep looking. With just a general search, I found 2 guys who make the doors.  Here's the info, for anyone else who may need a door.  CAUTION:  I know nothing about these vendors, other than their Web addresses, and have not contacted or done any business with them.  For all I know, they could be out of business:

Don Loomis makes a resin door for the Training Van: https://www.flickr.com/photos/escort500xl/590882171

John E. Holt makes a door from brass strip with printed paper overlay, to match the graphics on the van: http://cryptoman.com/78hessrd.htm

An old R+R resin copy of the Johan 1969 GTX.  I have to admit the body is REALLY nice .

My plan is chop the roof off of it to replicate my old car . Probably use the interior and chassis from the AMT  version. The resin chassis is so twisted I dont I can even save it anyway.

Teeny tiny fan belt for the '68 Ford SOHC engine. Thanks F-J!

When I get this '58 Fairlane sort-of-street-freak-sort-of-gasser-complete-Frankenstein done I'm going to put up a thank-you list of forum members who helped with parts.
