Got up bright and early and headed out to an estate sale this morning because I caught a glimpse of a model kit in an advertising picture. There were 3 but I missed the Chevy blazer kit. But I did get the Ranchero and the 55 Chevy Hot Rod Custom. And then since I was close by. I ran to HL and grabbed a VW kit. Tomorrow the model car show and contest in Latham New York.

i got  this 1966 ford ltd promo for 10 dollars today at steel city comic con i have the missing part to the windshield post as it broke away fully while walking around buying stuff or waiting in line to get william shatner's autograph which cost 80 and he was a half hour late getting to the convention center  he was sceduled to start autograph signing at 3 pm  and he had photo ops with fans at 4:50 pm and he had well over 100 people in the vip line and around 50 in the non vip line which i would say i was in the middle of that 50  person line  and he mis spelled my name also when signing plus he was rushing signing autographs also

thanks the vendor wanted 35 for it but i only had  10 left   and ended tracking me down on the other side of vedor area to say he would sell it to me for ten due to taking a closer look at it and noticing the cracked windshield posts and the skuffs on the roof and the chrome wear  if he had found me 5 minutes later i would not have ended up having that 10 dollars as i found a bin of vintage star trek figures that were a dollar each i had just started looking through them

Went to the Northeastcon in Latham NY today. Some nice model car entries. But mainly military.  With the amount all the venders there were a total of 10 model car kits. All the rest were planes and military. Never been and don’t think I’d go again. But did pick this stuff up. A Novis Polishing kit to see if I can take the haze off some windshields. And some Tamiya masking tape seeing I’m  not having any luck with 3M blue painter’s tape. Been trying to two tone a 56 ford but either the tape releases as I’m spraying or the tape leaves a mess on the previously painted part. The ford is in the purple pond for the 4th time.

You are most likely going to like the tamiya tape and want to kick yourself in the rear for not using it sooner. Make sure the edges are burnished down well and you should not have and bleed under.

Went to a local hobby store this afternoon. Mainly to buy paint. But this also caught my eye. On their new products shelf they wanted $3.00 more than the ones on the regular model car kit shelves. Guess what I did? I saved the $3.00 of course. I did question in a friendly way about the price difference. They jokingly told me $3.00 kits were just better kits. One customer suggested that the kit cheaper had no glass. I hope he is wrong about that. The bottom of the box indicates it includes the glass. So I'm guessing he was joking too? Got to love smart aleck clerks and customers. And even more, saving even a small amount like $3.00. Plus another cool MoPar for my collection.

I technically didn't get this, today, but I found this, and two others (one turquoise and one, "metallic bronze", which isn't bronze, at all, but a nice, almost pearl red), while digging through one of my paint drawers. Apparently, I bought them on closeout, as the orange sticker on top marks them at 5/$1.00. They are all, unbelievably...good!

Union 917K in Martini colors, which is not the same or derived from the Fujimi kit, so I assume it's ex-Heller. Several things that need to be upgraded/corrected to look a little less toylike in areas, but overall great potential. Interestingly, there are significant scale and proportion differences between this and the Fujimi 917s, and right now, I don't know which ones are correct.

Also got a Union (ex-IMC) Lola T-70 in Mecom colors. Being IMC, there are a lot of areas on this one that need correcting as well, but it's an important car, and one my collection was missing. I hadn't really been chasing either of these, but the prices were too good to pass up.

Snagged several test-shots of the old 1962 Revell parts-pack sprues, again for much better prices that these kits usually bring. Purchased to build, not to hoard.

Interesting that those two dragster frames are connected together.  I figured that those parts packs were probably molded about four at a time.  There's no way of knowing if certain ones had to be run together, or if one could be switched for another during a production run.  The parts between the two frames appear to be the extra parts added to the Mooneyes version of the Dragmaster frame.

'75 release, but it's the '76 body ('76-'77 grille area is a bit different from '74-'75).

Other than the styling changes, I don't remember any "new" parts in those kits.  The '71 had dragster spoke wheels for the front (as did the Pinto and Vega which used that same chassis), '72 versions had five spoke fronts.  Other than that, I can't recall any other changes.
