That is a drool worthy successor to the E Type..........with the return of the Stingray name to the Corvette, I wonder if a rewrite of Deadman's Curve coming.............

Oh baby, if I saw that on the street sans badges, my first guess would be Maserati, not Jag. Looks pretty good (he said understatedly). Rear end is very Jag-esque, but all the folds and creases don't evoke the smooth feminine sensuality of the E-type. Still, I wouldn't throw her out of the garage. Oh, baby.

I wonder if she's as small, nimble and toss-able as she looks in the top photo.

I don't know, there is something a little Z about the front end that would not make me immediately think Jag, but it is a sharp looking car.

Still has a lot of "E Type" in it, which is good. Get rid of the scoops/vents on the sides of the grille, fix the headlights, and you have something!

Saw one this morning on the way to work, thought it was a Maserati. Then I read this thread. "Oh, so that's what I saw this morning...."

Small, nimble and chuckable? Oh, I think so....

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/comparison-new-jaguar-f-type-r-coupe-vs-porsche-911-turbo-s

The F-type R coupe (unlike the convertible) has got the 542BHP top of the range V8 that's been pushing the XKR-S along these last few years, except the F-type weighs 220lbs less... (and it's $20,000 lighter on the wallet)

You need never buy another Porsche again...

(BTW, @jbwelda -- there's not a _plastic_ Xj13 available, but if you want one... http://www.kandrreplicas.co.uk/jagkar2417.html )

It's a very nice kit, if you're comfortable working with white metal, and boy, does it have "heft" when you've built it!

bestest,

M.

If you ask Mr Callum, he'll tell you all about how the back end (appropriately) is looking backwards towards the E-Type, and the front end is showcasing the new Jaguar "signature" grille. Just because a car's "British", it doesn't mean the only thing it has going for it is "heritage"...

;-P

I would of thought the badges on the car would of given away what it was :P:lol:

Disclaimer, I am just messing with you.

I saw a black coupe in traffic last week. I'm try to market a vital organ or two to see if I could afford one. The lottery thing hasn't worked out yet.

Not impressed. Another bland, characterless modern lump, using only that which is borrowed and showing little to no originality.

I'll take an E-type, not a half-hearted tribute.

Pass.

That has to be the prettiest Tata to ever come out of Mumbai! Strange era we live in!

So I'll do what I did the last time I liked a Jaguar design... I'll wait 10 years and get one for 1/5 of the price of a new one!

I too would love to see a kit of this (the coupe, please). But please - make it a full detail kit - no curbsides or pseudo "full detail" with a less than accurate, separate engine representation. Thanks....TB
