Well, a related question is why do manufacturers think up and make these "accessories" in the first place? Probably because they think some people will buy them.  And we have come a complete circle.  :D  Most people enjoy standing out in the crowd, and that can be done to various degree.  I actually think the more subtle "angry looking" Jeep grilles look cool, but like everything else, it can be overdone, and instead of standing out, it gets freakish. But it is all individual point of view.

Speaking of Jeep accessories I thought that the rules stated that only white or amber lights are allowed at the front of road vehicles, and I see plenty of Jeeps with green, red, pink, purple, blue "halo" ring lights around the headlight. I guess either the rules have changed or cops are too lazy to bother with them.  I  remember when "blue dots" in taillights were illegal too.  That was subtle compared to those halo lights.

A few years back, there was a recent Camaro with red headlights and turn signals. Very discomforting to see that coming at you. They weren't halo lights, they were full red.

I only saw it once, so maybe he did get ticketed.

People don't care about regulations and do whatever they want.  Enforcement of equipment violations (in most cases any traffic enforcement) is nonexistent.

I really don't get the appeal of the tacky Jeep accessories...I've driven Jeeps for 25 years, but the only accessories I've added are the practical--side step rails and Weathertech floor mats and cargo mat.  I'm not into the silly appearance stuff...

That's exactly my point.  this world is becoming more and more like the old Wild West. Everything goes with no accountability. even when caught, you get a slap on the wrist, and continue to brake the law.

Went to a local Cruise-In yesterday, very small turnout, weather was kind of iffy. Anyway saw this one. Owner said he scratchbuilt it during the COVID lockdown, he started with a bare chassis.  He came driving in wearing racing goggles, a leather helmet, and white period racing coveralls.

How about a, "What Did I See Parked Today?"

I've seen several of these vehicles around town over the last couple years but never gotten a picture. A local used car lot was selling them and I'm assuming they came from maybe the Forest Service? They seem to be fleet painted and are low on optional equipment. Any ideas on that? There's also a couple of F-150s in town just like this. I love the color and am going to look for it in a spray can. I'm thinking it might make a good project, using AMTs new release C1500 or C3500.

I'm guessing this is owned by someone who had one of those cheap Walmart knockoff Tonka trucks as a kid and never got over it. "Here you go kid, just like the Tonka and a whole lot cheaper!"

Looks sort of like the old California Department of Forestry color, usually with a light gray roof, but they may have found that option to pricy when you're buying so many vehicles.

Having ordered those over the years, that is National Forestry Service Green. Special order colour for customers with a fleet code with GM, Ram, or Ford. No extra charge, just check the box when ordering. Typically on GM trucks, it was only available on the most basic of trim levels. Either the WT (work truck) trim as you pictured, and in later years, the Chev Base and LS trim, and GMC base and SL trims. As they were work trim levels, you almost never see these trucks with alloy wheels, carpet, power windows/mirrors/locks, CD players, etc. I'm actually kind of surprised that truck pictured has chrome bumpers.

I'd drive that truck all day long. I like the base models, and I LOVE what I call crayon colours on vehicles.

This might be either a Volvo L3314 or a C202, I can't tell it from these pictures.

The manufacturing of the latter was outsourced to Hungary to reduce costs. I would rather say that it's an L3314.
