My new truck has shipped. Due to arrive here late next week. :)

What’d ya end up getting? F-150? Does your service department see many 5.0 powered trucks given stuff like the belt-driven oil pump?

Yeah, I have a numbered company and a fleet code with a couple of manufacturers, so get some pretty decent pricing. And with the market is nuts as it is right now, there is money to be made with lightly used trucks. I normally keep trucks for 6 months to a year, but this coming truck will be number 4 in the last 12 months. I'm thinking this next one will stick around a while though.

Poor me, I'm still driving the 2002 Ford F 150 crew cab I bought new years ago.

Yeah, another F150. This time a 2023 with the 5.0L.

We don't see many issues at all with the 5.0L. Although, I have a customer that runs a bunch as pilot trucks. He says the 5.0L are terrible because when they get to around 700-800,000km (call it 450k miles) they start to tick. ?

The small Power Stroke diesels in the F150s were a real problem. Constantly in for warranty work, regardless of mileage. Glad they cancelled that engine.

I actually don't like changing vehicles. Being a vehicle gypsy annoys me. But if I can make a little money on them, then I will take advantage.

In a lot of ways, I prefer my old Chevs. But the 95 K1500 isn't on the road right now, and my son has commandeered the 99 Tahoe.

Wifey's Volvo was bought new in 2006. Now has 320,000km on it. Going strong, and she's only now starting to hint that it might be time to replace it.

No one was killed and very few injuries from the Deer Park, Pasadena, Baytown TX tornado yesterday.  My employer had an office in Deer Park and back half of the building is basically gone.  The landlord has been great to work with and was able to get the city two allow a party of two from each tenant a two hour window to get their effects from their former offices before more rains Saturday.  I'm the leasing guy and got the e-mail when the office took the hit.  I went out later onto the web and one of the local weathermen was on the street in front of the building.  As they panned down the road, I believe those two big rooftop HVAC units now in the road were originally from the building we were in.

Preliminary reports today are calling it an EF3.

That’s what he calls terrible? I’m curious to know what he has for a personal vehicle, lol.

Yeah, those were developed from the engines they were putting in LR Range Rovers, those vehicles renowned for their reliability and low depreciation rates. :)

Thoroughly satisfied with my 2022 5.0 F-150, except for the horrendous gas-milage when I am pulling my utility trailer or my boat. 12-13 mpg really sucks the wallet dry.

Hmmm, wonder what I could get for my 2019 F350. It has 4,200 miles on it.

Just saw in News/Reviews that Italeri's next 1/12 release will be a Lancia Stratos. I'm chuffed that one of my favorite cars is going to be released in my favorite scale by a manufacturer that's been on a hot streak lately. It's great that Italeri has stepped into the large-scale arena and is obviously doing well enough there to continue developing 1/12 scale kits. If they keep releasing them I'll keep buying them!

That's an awesome setup!

If that was local, you'd currently get more than you paid for it when new. Not sure about current US market though.

Gorgeous sunny day in the high 70's.  Got some much needed yard work done.

Gorgeous clouds and quite windy day here with snow showers and a temperature of 15 degrees.  The yard is white. ???

No yard work today but that means Model Building Time!!  ?

Another sunny day in the low 80's.  More yard work done and then more on Wednesday.  Hospital tomorrow for Marcia to have her pre-op testing for knee replacement surgery.

Airfix sent me the missing part. It came with a complete kit. Can't complain about that can you. Maybe I could fashion something to make the duplicate piece to fit?

Rob-Zombie-and-Alice-Cooper-Announce-The-Freaks-on-Parade-Tour-with-Ministry.jpg.f8a3ed6d65cb002e6dba7de2556459d8.jpgMy son told me about this show coming up in September, he wanted us to go and he was trying to figure out how to pay for it, tickets go on sale Friday. He grew up listening to me blasting Alice and Zombie and Ministry when he was growing up.

So, I saw I could get on a pre-sale and so I further abused my Visa card and told him he was driving.  He was excited. I think it's cool my adult son still wants to hang out with his dad, though tbh, I had no desire to go.

Oh well, at this point it's basically an AARP show with Alice 74, Jorgensen 64 and Zombie 58...

Dad bought himself a new TV for the kitchen a couple weeks ago, set the new TV up on Saturday then I used the old one to update my work desk in the office. Not working from home any more, but still use it for models and R/C projects and this will give me more room for bigger projects like my Traxxas E-Revo that I need to finish dismantling and start refurbishing, plus has more room for my stretched HPI Wheely King and if I ever get going on my MPC 1/16 kits!

Before, while still on WFH too.

After, but with said stretched Wheely King now on the desk!

Think I need to bring that Tamiya Wild Willy 4x4 from the desk top as well as the portal equipped Tamiya MF-01x Chassis Suzuki Jimny I have for the Lock Screen up and take desk pictures with their images on the screen too!

Booked a flight to Indianapolis and a hotel room.

Will be attending Work Truck Week in about a month. Specifically, the Ford Medium Duty Conference.

Will have a couple of of days to myself. What is there to do in Indy in early March?

And where are the good hobby stores?

Nice weather today…unusual for it to be 65 and sunny (but windy) in NE Ohio in early February…drove w/ my sunroof open enjoying the fresh air.  Went to my local Ace Hardware, they have topsoil, mulch and fertilizer back in stock.  Made me happy…a ways to go towards Spring and more winter to come, but something to look forward to.
