stitchdup Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 possibly one of the ugliest cars produced by a major manufacturer until that pontiac thing that looked like 3 different cars were put together wrong, but i need one for my vw collection
espo Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 Maybe Revell could issue a '57 Nomad based off of their Bel Air and 150 tooling. The old kit is just out of proportion and the roof is just the wrong shape all together. They could just use the roof off of their '56 Nomad. 1

Khils Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 One of these kitted & I could get several different versions from it. 1

mr moto Posted December 20, 2022 Posted December 20, 2022 How about a '57 Studebaker Parkview? Not likely to happen but I want it! This thread really shows up some huge voids in cars that should have been kitted by now but haven't been - whether as station wagons or any other versions. For instance, it's a sin that are no mid-century Mercurys or Dodges of any kind kitted. Look thru this thread and you'll see many other examples. 2
NYLIBUD Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 Wow lots of cool wagons here.I must say the last two wagons are pretty wild looking.I mean while I’m not crazy about the “Judge” wagon replica,I do like the 73 Grand Am wagon prototype.I wonder how they were built.?

GRiN Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 While the newer models are nice, but IMHO they look like 5-door hatchbacks. "My" definition of a wagon is something large and in your face. I feel anything from the late 50's to early 80's fits the bill. It has to be a mid-line car maker. Pinto and Vega are cute but not for the family of five to seven people. My personal favorite for many years was the 1964 Ford Galaxie 500. Not the ranch wagon, the faux wood panels turn me off. Also the same year Chevrolet Impala. But a few years ago they were trumped down the list by 1957 Buick. Everyone has a personal favorite and those are mine.
Richard Bartrop Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Seeing as how both Round2 and Revell have '59 Chevies, how about a long roof version?

Jeff "Goose" Herrman Yea I gotta definitely go with the Griswold’s Wagon, the famous Queen Family Truckster too, from the movie Vacation.I was able to find this funny story on line about a family with the real last name of the Griswold’s who were able to build a replica of the Wagon.?It cost quite a bit to build, according to the couple, but when it was finished it came out looking pretty much like the movie car..I found these photos of the build. The couple said that they drive the car all over America going on vacations with their family, and say that people can’t believe that their last name is the same as Chevy Chase, and Beverly DeAngelo’s from the film. And are stopped all over so that people can take photos of the car.The only thing missing is the old lady up on the roof..Actually I have a 1/64th scale version of the car,and I plan to buy a 1/18th scale diecast version of it.So like I said I think this very famous wagon would make a great model.Come on Revell,I think it’s about time. Mike C. Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 (edited) '70-'73 Vega station wagon. These weren't the fastest thin out there at the time (Gas crisis) but I think they were pretty handsome cars. Maybe throw in an optional cowl or Motion Stinger hood and some mags with an optional small block Chevy in the kit and I'd be all over one. Edited December 28, 2022 by Mike C. 2
