37 caddy Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 anyone know anything about this one,it is advertised on a local hobby shop website, says ford C-600 with the hostess dcals, truck is all wrong for a C-600 has tandem rear wheels and looks like a newer conventional truck.. http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=AMT1139

It'll be the same C-600 last seen in Pepsi livery, with new Hostess decals.
PettyKW43 Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I wouldn’t be too surprised to eventually see the T500 version of the Peterbilt, they retooled the sleeper for the W925 kit and if they get enough requests for the sleeper they might retool it plus it give them another option on the old tool..
Spruslayer Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 (edited) The box for the C-600,Yet another on my list of gotta wants! Looks more like a f series to me? Edited December 31, 2018 by Spruslayer
leafsprings Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 Appears to be a photo a current truck in the Hostess delivery fleet transposed on to the actual box they will probably use. 100% certain the vehicle in photo will change, however no excuse for still calling this a C 600!
Dave Van Posted January 1, 2019 Posted January 1, 2019 (edited) Pretty sure its this kit......... Edited January 1, 2019 by Dave Van

However look straight at the middle. Since I don't want to shell out basically my grocery funds for a week on an ERTL issued 4070, that Astro 95 may just do the trick. Especially in that livery. I had it back in the late '70's.

Is that the kit that had the turbine back in the day??? Always wanted that kit.
stavanzer Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 So could anybody get close enough to the GMC to see if the box calls out the Turbine? Brat!! Wow, a home run there!
Casey Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Thanks, Luc. The B.R.A.T. returns, but no turbine engine for the GMC Astro 95 this time around.
Rob Hall Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Found this pic on FB...mostly car kits, but you can see what may be the final Dodge pickup box art, kind of retro style, but not the same as the annuals.
Renegade Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Gotta get a set of those double header trailers.

If you notice, the Pepsi logo is still visible on the door. But realistically, the final design will probably be similar to this. Just the way the Pepsi box art was a direct copy of the 70's era Hertz truck cover.
Daddyfink Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 ebay Scalper's Hearts are breaking all over the place! Finally, the goods are coming!

I do not believe that it has the turbine. I tried to enlarge it but it appears to be the 1972 issue. I believe the turbine was only in the original issue from 1971.

As mentioned above, no turbine and 2nd issue box art for the Astro, but all new box art for the C-600. Truck release are in the last few minutes of video.
unclescott58 Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Good to see the Brat coming back. Disappointed that the GMC Astro is coming back without the turbine. I already have one without the turbine. Plus I have a Chevy Titan. So I'll be passing on another Astro because of the lack of the turbine.

I wish that Dodge pickup had the older grille treatment...but it will be on my must have anyway...been needing a few to make family owned replicas with.
