64Comet404 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 This is the latest model off the bench. One of the clubs I belong to has a kit build challenge, where members bring in a gift-wrapped model, and you have to build the model you choose from the pile. I had a GSX on the build pile, but the kit I won came moulded in white; I didn’t want to build another yellow one. It’s pretty much OOB, but I used Shabo transfers for the tires, some wire valve stems, and a set of 1970 Ontario plates from the decal bin. It was a challenge to paint a white car with black trim, and not have it look too stark, so I used nearly every dark grey hue in my paint rack to provide some contrasts. It did put up a fight, but I’m pleased with the results.
vamach1 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Looks like a nice kit and you did a great job. My first car was a 67 Buick Special.
shoopdog Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Super nice job on your Buick, looks great in the white.
tmb727 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Very nice job on what looks like a challenging build. I'll bet it stands out on the shelf!
espo Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Very clean looking build, and the paint detailing on the engine and chassis are really nice. All of the stripes look just as they should. We have a very active local Buick Club and one of the menbers has a GSX in white that looks just like your model. They both look outstanding to me.
Tommy124 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Well done, Ken! Looks very nice and I'm thankful for every GSX not painted yellow
