Working with what I have on hand, and because i already have an interior In this color, the pickup will be red. Not sure about Jeepster two just yet. So far I pieced together two vehicles from boxes of parts including a couple of the later Commandos. I have cleaned up two bodies this afternoon. The hoods have a scoop cut out that’s exceptionally deep and can be seen as a distortion from the top of the hood. These are sitting filled with thick CA drying. We are on our way! I hope you’re going to do a build thread on these! I will be a subscriber for sure.

NOBLNG Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 I went and picked up the short block at the machine shop for my next project.
Modlbldr Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I was having a crappy day! So I sat down to start a new project working on a 77 GMC but got sidetracked cleaning up the mold lines and body lines on this 63 Starfire. Got this from a local friend for $15 missing the tires and wheels. The C-pillar trim has nasty mold lines around them. On the driver's side the lines are indented and on the passenger side they are proud. Makes for some delicate work. Still have a bit on the passenger side. I also worked on the lines that are proud on around the nose when they should not be. They should represent a separation between the fender and headlight surround. I nice hour of work spent on these two issues. Hope you all are having a good day. Later-
ChrisBcritter Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Big improvement on something that always bugged me about that kit!
bamadon Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Today I completed my first model in 40 years. My skills need a lot of improvement but it is done and on a shelf in my office. '32 Ford Vicky box stock original in maroon with black fenders and tan interior. Needless to say I'm pretty happy with myself right now. Don

StevenGuthmiller Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I tried my hand at replicating a '64 Pontiac automatic transmission. Not a very accurate representation, but with so little available to work from, this was the best that I could come up with. Steve
Tom Geiger Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 I've been playing with Jeepsters. I did a lot of Internet snooping and decided to build the pickup version with a 4 cylinder, which led to my digging through a box of Jeep junkers I have where I found several candidate engines. I'm piecing one together now. I also discovered that the Jeepster body has the two tone trim not there on the one color trucks. So I carefully sanded that all off yesterday. Cleaning up body divets. adding a few missing panel lines and should be nearing primer soon!
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Not being able to leave well enough alone, I added a few more things to the Pontiac auto. Probably still not done! Steve
64Comet404 Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Over the past week, I have been playing around with the old Revell 1:32 snap kits, which were some of the first kits I built as a kid. These kits are so basic, there is very little you can do with them beyond careful painting and assembly. I was able to finish detail painting the chassis, which looks nothing like the chassis of a C1 ‘Vette, (or the baby Bird or the full size ‘57 Fords and Chevs, to be honest!)
Snake45 Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 Finished the bodywork and paint touchup of an AMT annual '66 Mustang fastback I'm restoring. Should be able to reassemble and finish it up tomorrow.
89AKurt Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Recently improved my hobby space (posted back then), but for some reason didn't make enough shelving for paint. Didn't have any room for the Splash paint I got today (oh that's the issue), so I ripped a new shelf that is slightly wider than the other ones, top in the picture. Have more wall space, see how long before I need more shelves.
Modlbldr Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 Like always, I had an idea and decided to run with it before finishing my current project, of which I am working on the engine and have a lot more of the small details finished. (I WILL finish soon.). I thought this 84 Square body Chevy needed a bit of shape so I set off to widen the fenders before I begin the work on scratchbuilding a lowered frame. It's kind of difficult in the photos to see how it looks but it doesn't look too bad. I started by cutting the tops of the fenders and then adding some extra plastic. Later-

Mike999 Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Wired and plumbed a grungy engine, to go in a grungy dirt track racer.

How long is the finished part, Steve? Well, don't take this example as anything anywhere near accurate dimensions. It's purely freehand. But it's about 1 1/4". Steve
OldNYJim Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 I finally managed to get my scrapbook cutter to successfully cut tiny letters so I can have more 3D looking license plates Haven’t PERFECTED it yet, but cutting such small stuff on vinyl has taken a few attempts to say the least. PS: it says “Ah! Olé!” and definitely isn’t anything to do with the fact that this is going on an everybody-has-one-lately Revell Model A kit ???
Tom Geiger Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 (edited) Two Jeepster chassis cleaned up, assembled and painted. I also have the engines assembled, drilled and in primer. Two bodies are also in primer. I had to sand off the two tone chrome trim on one of them.. lots of imperfections to fix on those old MPC bodies! Typical kit of that era.. bed was flat, pictures of 1:1 show ribbing so I added it with Evergreen strips. Edited May 13, 2020 by Tom Geiger

I really need to learn how to make my Cricut work, for me. The possibilities seem fairly limitless.
Snake45 Posted May 15, 2020 Author Posted May 15, 2020 After two days of looking, I FINALLY located my first-issue "street machine" AMT '55 Bel Air kit (pink car on box), the one with the original '55 Nomad beam front axle and injected SBC. (Yah, I know it's out again, but I knew I already owned one of the evil things.) For some reason I've been seized by the urge to build a gasser or "gassy" street freak along these lines. Maybe it's because I've been spending a lot of time trying to correct that wretched backbirth front pan on another (stock-body) copy of the kit, and have decided the best thing to do with that pan is just cut it off and throw it away.
