Brianl
The cab, bed and some other bits were a gift from a fellow club member. Originally intended as a tow vehicle it sort of descended into a full on custom (again...). The Chev rear fenders didn't seem big enough so I modified a pair of '40 ford rears and widened them at the same time. Was going to use the stock bed but so does everyone else. The T'Bird rear quarter panels worked very well, even the fins continued the theme of the bent sides of the original bed. I cut 4mm from under the belt line of the cab and tops of the front fenders and another 4mm out of the cab which meant the roof needed lengthening. Took a long time to get right!. At this time the deck and door panels will be timber so it's sort of a woody... sort of. Think I'll keep he straight six with some mods. There is a lot of body work to go yet!! AmericanMuscleFan
WOW! Full custom build is an euphemism sir!!! That's what I call a top chop and you did a superb job at it!  I am not a custom builder but your work deserves to be pointed out, that's great scratchbuilding and a very distinctive build in the making! Keep doing your great work sir! Brianl
Heaps of cutting, filling and sanding. Bodywork is largely finished just working on the new nose and a general clean up. I'm thinking I'll glue the hood to the nose to get the right profile then cut it off again. We'll see. Brian

Brianl
Thanks for the comments gentlemen Front end is pretty well done now. Just some cleanup work to be done. Was going to keep the Chev 6 but after cutting out so much body height it wouldn't fit under the bonnet so back to a Corvette unit. Moving to paint soon I hope. misterNNL
Very cohesive design. Highly modified while retaining retaining the identity of the original vehicle. Well done indeed. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
espo
I like how you shaped the grill and front fenders. The engine looks perfect for this.
doorsovdoon
Nice sculpting. The front looks like a Morris Minor.
Brianl
Thanks for the 'cohesive' comment. Something I try for with every custom and rod. Not sure about the Morris Minor comparison though.... Once I committed to black it meant a lot more sanding, filling and getting frustrated seeing new flaws every time I laid down what I hoped was a final coat. Anyhow it's close enough now. Hard to photograph though. Timberwork next! Brian
