Atlantis models for 2021 !!!!

Alright I'm puzzled.  I get the "appeal" of some of the Revell stuff like the old multi-opened Tri-Fives to a certain subset of builders who value nostalgia over the ability to easily assemble a model kit.

But what is the point of these 1/32 SnapTite kits?  The majority of the older members here would be too old in 1980-1985 to have had much use for any of them.  None of my Gen X friends (granted a small sample size) has shown anything beyond puzzled stares as to the desire to "relive our youth" buying them again.  I vaguely remember building the '82 Camaro, and even as a wee lad I knew these were the wrong scale and avoided them.

I have never built  any of those 1:32 scale kits in my youth, but I do have a collection of the Gunze Sangyo 1:32  kits and I won't mind adding the Riviera and Eldorado to that collection.  To me there is no such thing as "wrong scale". I'm  not a "1:25 snob".

The '82 Camaro puzzles me a bit, too, so no idea on that one.

The 1/32 Firebird and Nova haven't been available for 30+ years, so there is likely some pent up demand, despite the non-mainstream scale. Not sure how slot car builders factor in, but Monogram kits usually had mostly accurate bodies over simplified underpinnings, so if you only care about the body, these two offer unique subject material.

The 1/32 F/Cs were out in the early '70s, so probably some nostalgia at play there. The bodies are all decent, and though the chassis' are highly simplified, where else are you going to find a decent looking Camaro, Gremlin, and Mustang II F/C? See the Jungle Jim ex-Revell 1/25 kit for comparison.

I don't know that there is a convincing argument for any of these 1/32 scale ex-Monogram kit in all honesty, but much like some of Round2's reissues, may they are doing them just because the the molds are in good condition and, well, they can. Tooling up new clear parts must not be prohibitively expensive, either, otherwise I would think all of these would have never progressed beyond the test shot stage.

Don't forget, most slot cars that aren't HO scale are probably 1/32 scale, and all of the slot car guys have an eye open looking for bodies.  Round 2 has issued six of the eight AMT 1/32 scale cars, some of those are probably bought with the idea of using the bodies on slot cars.

Did Atlantis got any 1/32 scale Lindberg molds? I'm thinking here of the 1977 T-Bird, Granada and Monarch, along with their Charger(?) and a few other ones. All in 1/32.

I'd buy those.....the Thunderbird is not great....but only plastic kit ever made.

The car used in the TV show was a Vette with fiberglass body.....so the kit was pretty correct!

Notice that the Green & Yellow Camaro bodies are different. The Rear Spoiler and Cowl area are not the same. The Green one, has no notch to clear the Blower, and a smaller spoiler.

And the green one also has the attachment points for the Canard Wings on the quarter panels.

I think the early issues had tin work and later ones didn't. I have an early Camaro and Charger that I got built with no box, that have tins and several later issues that are unbuilt in box that don't have them.

I might buy a '56 Buick or Cadillac. I've been toying with getting some of the AMT 1/32, and I could make a nice little diorama with those, and some of my other 1/32 cars.
