37 Ford Slantback custom

Hi All,

Calling this one done! Although all during the build phase there are always some gremlins show up in final assembly.

I started with a pretty nice built up that was disassembled cleanly and then incorporated the Smoothster chassis and drive train.

The two main mods were firewall, interior floor and the running boards under the covers had to be cut out for clearance.

I noticed a bit of a trend using military type paint colours so that’s what I tried with this build.

Lastly I used a staggered set of Pegasus wheels and tires.

Thanks for looking

I gotta tell ya....that's one sweet looking ride dude.  The color makes this 37.  Great job on the build.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the comment.

Hi Russell!

Very clean "salvage job", bravo! And choosing black for the top section increases the level of difficulty on a rebuilt. Mission accomplished!

Hey Claude,

Thanks for the comment. Thankfully like I said it was built pretty cleanly before but long enough ago the glue was brittle and didn't make a mess!

Very nice! What are the colors, exactly; the red and the blue, please?

Hey Tim, Glad you like it. As for colors the blue is called intermediat blue from Mr Color and the red was a custom mix from an auto paint store. I wanted an oxblood type color and have used it a few times on builds

Really like the way this one came out.  Beautiful choice of colors, really accent that lovely shape of the slantback. Overall very nice build.

Thanks very much

Beautiful clean looking build. I agree with you on the military colors especially on street rods like this. Makes it hard to figure out where that color came from. The chassis fits in just like it came in the kit.

appreciate the comment

Killer! I really like the colors and color scheme. Stance is perfect and the integration of the Smoothster chassis and engine is totally rad. Nice work!

Hi Dennis,

Great looking Slant-Back. The Smoothster chassis and powertrain are sure a nice fit.

 Thanks Phil,

Hoping you can see it in person at Gord’s if all goes well

This is the first '37 sedan I've seen that I actually like! The colors, wheels and stance are all dead on! Then there's the chassis and drivetrain to put it further over the top! Nice work!

Thanks Roger. Maybe you should try one and it may become a favourite

very well done, Russel! The Smoothster parts and the Pegasus wheels were nice choices to update this kit!

Your paint scheme and the mention of "military" colours reminds me of my black and army green ´37 I built a few years ago...
