  1. yeah, funny that...considering how wet most of Britain is.
  2. Ray, rat those bastages out to the manager of the theater, they'll give you passes to another movie. I usually just throw popcorn at idiots that have phone out during the movie. I had someones brat running up and down the aisle during a show, my wife was so pissed she confronted the inconsiderate biatch that the evil spawn belonged to, and talked to the manager.
  3. personally I would prefer to have an MGB-GT, Spitfires seem like the british version of a ford pinto...not that there's anything wrong with Spitfire's or Pinto's, just a personal preference. I currently have a TR4 that has been kitbashed..er I mean "car-bashed" with a Merc Bobcat. It's much more reliable and fun to drive (when it's not 105-F outside).
  4. I too would like to have a couple P1800's to try some ideas on, the Palmer kit looks like their other kits... an artists interpretation of a photo turned into a model kit without resolving dimensions changed for proper perspective viewing. IMHO a kit that would best be used for customizing ideas rather than a proper factory stock looking Volvo.
  5. Needs a sign that says "Must be THIS tall to go on this ride". Looks like a real E-ticket... Nice build.
  6. minor point...I doubt you'll make the MOPAR guys upset with your opinion of Matador cars, you might piss off some AMC lovers though. This looks like a fun project. I'll be following this.
  7. Now that is definitely a proper looking scale engine, it even has the automatic choke heat tube. (FYI: the tended to wrap them with a white asbestos cloth). nice job!
  8. I am wondering how you will handle the rear wheel travel exhibited in cars that have IRS...IE, will the inside top of the rear tires rub on the body under real hard acceleration?
  9. now that looks like a fun project in any scale.
  10. just don't tell anyone that you "blew a tranny", it can get taken the wrong way lately.
  11. yeah...in crayon with their eyes closed.
  12. you could have used slot car wheels/tires...
  13. MPC produced 1/32 scale 1911 Rolls and a Crowley that had black vinyl tires for the "hot rod" parts. Also a European IMSA Capri and VW.
  14. you seem to have a never ending supply of those big rear tires... where do you get them?
  15. I suggest drilling the hinge pin holes now then use a razor saw to cut the halves apart where they are glued together, if that fails then you'll have to make new hinges anyway...or just cut them off and glue the doors shut.
  16. turned out great, nice build.
  17. "talk to the hand"
  18. "always with the negative waves!"
  19. I had a ford festiva that I drove to california from arizona, those of us that have made that trip know of the rather steep hills involved in that trip. the festiva is the only car I've taken on that trip that actually slowed down when I took it out of gear to "coast" down the steep hills. I guess it was so light that it couldn't overcome it's own wind resistance.
  20. can it be really that hard to figure out who to talk to about this? isn't there a list of magazine exec's printed in the magazine?
  21. actually...it's gas vapor that makes combustion.
  22. there's a whole bunch done that way, even one made from Guinness cans, fascinating work.
  23. yeah, I agree...cold weather repairs suck too, when you bang a knuckle you won't know about it till your hands warm up or if there's blood all over everything.
  24. so...what yer sayin is that Palmer kits are a loose representation of a car rather than a scale replica, izzat what yer sayin?
  25. gonna hit three digits this week, we get some bonus summer here.
