  1. Very cool! Make me miss my '71 Chevelle. I noticed you have the '72 grille on your '71.
  2. What?
  3. I keep die cast cars on my desk, because people always want to touch them or pick them up. I once had an actual model, but that did not last long after someone tried picking it up when I was not there. But, I do have a display of unbuilt Star Wars kits that always gets a thumbs up!
  4. Well, that wasn't always the case and I am glad that practice has stopped. But I am just glad they are still making new tools with more options that are not permanent, and I am really glad I don't have to cut the hole in the hood or have the ghost pattern on where to cut, like the old tools used to have.
  5. For everyone lamenting that this is not stock, be glad they are starting with this and then coming out with a stock one and not the other way around! How many kits started stock only to be modded beyond hope of coming back to stock?
  6. Look what I stumbled upon! http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/#sthash.nwyriC32.dpbs
  7. Thanks for the great preview! Should be a great kit for the collection!
  8. I just grabbed mine from Hobby Lobby, thanks for leaving one for me Sam! LOL! Opened and checked it out, the cab is in there and all looks good!
  9. Looks very Harold and Maude! Crazy cool!
  10. Why is this thread not locked and buried?
  11. This? Looks like a cross between and S-10 and a Ford Ranger
  12. I have always wondered why they keep molding that lip on the front of the injector hat. Yes, the Revell hats are the most accurate out there.
  13. I just picked up one of these kits and I am definitely using your build as a guide! Nice job!!
  14. And here are the pics. Almost ironic that they are basing this kit on the Garlits car since Garlits called the Prudhomme car unsafe!!
  15. Sadly I think the Yellow Feather will be the MPC Garlits RED re boxed with new decals, and oh yes, a miniature model box to make it all better! LOL! Sad part is that I just sold a Garlits car at a kit show for $5 and it was sealed!! Now I have to buy it again for 5 times the price!! LOL!
  16. Well, this I do know, they make a lot less correction type kits for Tamiya products than they do for American Kits. Most aftermarket kits for Tamiya models are just to add more detail, not to correct the body, tires, wheels, engine and so on.... Even a Tamiya kit with sparse engine details can out shine most other kits with some proper detailing.
  17. Welcome to the board and that is one cool project! I have been thinking of doing the same thing but I am glad to see someone actually doing it!! Can't wait to see the finished product! Best of luck with your upcoming med procedure!
  18. Quite honestly, I am surprised that US model makers have not done this more. Instead we get "Fully" detailed kits with poor detail. Some engines look like total lumps and are for the most part never really seen. Sure you have the satisfaction of having built the engine, but, for what, you can see it most of the time. I never go around opening hoods on my finished builds, most of them are in boxes and are not seen at all. Tamiya has become the standard for kits, like it or not, and even with sparse engine detail, they still looks way better than most kits. But once again, if you don't like it, don't buy it.
  19. Well, might be able to make something cool out of it! Come on AMT, how about some drag parts!
  20. I now there is a Popular Hot Rodding Cut Away drawing of the car somewhere that shows the chassis pretty good. I will check and see if I have it when I get home.
  21. These are pretty nice kits and I can't wait to see what you do with it!
