  1. My friends older brother used to street race with his 57 Chevy, and yes, he was the Fastest 57 Chevy in town! But that was the thing, there where faster Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers etc. etc. When he raced other tri fives, he won almost every time, but it was a bit different when he went up against newer muscle. Again, this thing is a nice car, but, not a Legend or Mythical, to anyone but the locals and friends. And as someone who has been in some fast cars, it takes quite a bit to make them that way.
  2. This is turning into "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" "The Challenger Black Ghost is based on the 6.2-liter V-8-powered Hellcat Redeye, and it honors a legendary Challenger that used to dominate Detroit street racing." "This look mirrors that of the original Black Ghost, a 1970 Challenger R/T that gained a mythical aura in the Detroit street racing scene. Only 300 2023 models will be built."
  3. I highly doubt it, they mostly stuck to the really special stuff, not a pretty much bone stock Challenger. One must remember that while that car is super special and rare now, it was just another well optioned Challenger back then. It is a cool car, there is no doubt, and I am sure most of the story is true, but it is not that special, at least to me. And trust me, I read about this car in Hagerty's monthly mag and it was a cool read, but after seeing this vid and reading other stuff, the coolness wore off a bit. Good for him for getting so much money for it, but he should be a bit more honest and realistic about the story.
  4. Prior to all this, had you ever heard of it? I have heard of The Silver Bullet and The Gap & Roush Sudden Death cars, but never of a Black Ghost. Even in periodicals of the day, there was never a mention of it, and its a Legend?
  5. Well, it is actually $1,072,500 after fees And yeah, Tony DeFeo is the real deal, he founded High Performance Mopar magazine and Mopar Action. Maybe you should watch the whole thing before making such comments or Assumptions.
  6. Sadly the Revell Pinto Funny Cars are pretty bad. Bodies are wonky and the chassis looks like a recycled jungle gym. But for nostalgias sake, they should be fine! I would buy one.
  7. The Mustang is composed of the remains of their Grande Mustang kit, and it is pretty bad. Not as bad as the Maverick, or even the Camaro, but bad enough. Comparing it to the kits JoHan, AMT and MPC where cranking out at the time, they are pretty bad.
  8. Could be a Licensing issue with the Boyd Estate. These are proprietary designs.
  9. The treatment is for their RC line
  10. All Monogram Funny Cars from the 80's are 1/24 scale, with the exception of the snap 1/32 kits.
  11. Check out Speed City Resin, they have a really nice Corvair body http://www.speedcityresin.com/GMPage.html
  12. Well, my wallet is safe!
  13. I think I have the Resin version of this, and for sure know that I have a Cheetah resin. Got it years ago from a fellow modeler in my club.
  14. There really never was any when it was first issued, and actually, I never saw any love of any of the boat combos back then. Most of them ended up on clearance shelves and the cheap tables at shows. Hopefully they sell on nostalgia or for those who never saw them.
  15. There's a few rarities in these pics, some where rare, at least before they where re issued! LOL!
  16. Wow, what a great time to be a modeler! Especially for those of us that where to young to enjoy some of these kits when they first came out, but now we have them, as well as the latest from the companies! Dying Hobby my Asp! ?
  17. A few things laying around that I think might be a bit rare these days.
