Maybe if they are boxed in a Euro style or US style box? Otherwise it should be the same kit.

Popcorn wagon feasible?
Daddyfink replied to gotnitro?'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My comments are mainly about show rods, fantasy cars and the like. I didn't say anything about goofy modified road cars, and that is the Get Off My Lawn thing I was making reference to. I know they barely work, if at all, but they where made to make us ooh and ahh, and fire up our imaginations. Honestly, who would go riding around in this thing in real life? -

Ok, this is turning into a bit of a "Get Off My Lawn!" moment. Let's keep it on track. These are wacky show rods, they look wild, and that is all it is, just show. As a kid, I was enthralled by these things. I had no idea if it worked or not, but it looked cool! Now I know better and it makes me chuckle, but hey, it worked on me as a kid. So don't try to take it too serious, it is just for fun. -
They where give away promotional items for tv and radio types that went to the premiere to get the buzz going. The collectability I think lies in the fact that very few where made and most likely, very few survived. As a freebie to promote the movie, odds are that quite a few ended up in the trash with other freebie giveaway junk. I think it is the nostalgia, if you have seen the movie, and the tie in to this hobby that makes it desirable. I know I want one! LOL!

Misao Hiro of Model Factory Hiro has Passed
Daddyfink replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Sad news indeed. The man had a true passion for the hobby and created some of the nicest kits I have ever seen. I never had one, but have seen a few of them, and they are just works of art. Vaya Con Dios. -
That looks really cool! Nice build! I hope that Slixx will step up to the plate and do some decals for this Mustang, or at least add them to sheet somewhere.

1971 Charger Daytona ?
Daddyfink replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
From what I read in an old Mopar mag, Plymouth had started testing a winged 71 before the axe fell on the winged thing. MPC had access to the plans and this was the result. There was a photo of the wind tunnel model rolling around the internet for a while, but, I can't find it and the copy I had went away when I had a massive computer crash a few years ago. Maybe someone here has one. But yup, it was going to be real. -
Fit and finish looks great. Can't wait to see what other options come down the line.

Oh yeah, that looks nice and minty! Congrats! I have the charger, but sadly, it is not the clear body version. But, I always keep and eye out for one at the shows.

Nice! I picked up a built one at a show years ago for about $40, and it was that price only because I know the seller! Then I got the modified version, the yellow one, with the hope using both kits to make a clean resto, until I went to a kit show and this older gentleman was selling off his Corvette collection and he had one a the bottom of the pile. I was afraid to ask how much as it was still sealed, but I asked, and he told me that everything was $10 bucks! I had a pretty good out of body moment! I had to double check and he confirmed the price! I told him it was worth more, but he didn't care, he just wanted the stuff gone! I don't get that luck that often, but I do find a diamond once in a while! But, great find on minty version that is well worth it! Congrats!

What was your first model car?
Daddyfink replied to Kit Karson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I used to mess around with my Uncle's model collection a bit, but it was not until they bought me this that I finally built something on my own. I was 6 years old! And if I remember correctly, this was my first actual glue kit, and I remember it did not end well. -
Oh, this one. I have never seen his vids, so I just grabbed the first one that said Revell Chrome on it. But, here you go. Thanks to Steve for starting this thread, and I hope it is cool that I am trying to add more info to it.

This thread was not about different options, it was about the Revell Spray Chrome. You want options, go revive one of the long beaten up threads on the subject or make a new one about different options. This proves once again how easy this board gets derailed by anything. I am sure this thread will end with a comparison of Mopar hubcaps. as per usual, or why the Revell Mustang has not shown up yet. Thanks to Steve, and others, for showing their results with the product.

Most likely this kit in a new vintage style box. This box sucked!
