I love the chassis detail on this. Very nice build all round. I’m not familiar with this kit. Who makes it?
-
I like that colour. What paint is it? Seeing the body shell resting on the radiator really puts in to perspective the size of a 1:12, when we are so accustomed to seeing 1:24. Hopefully, the radiator is on a low heat setting!

What a beauty! I don’t mind red, but blue looks better on this shape, and together with the tan/red interior this really stands out.
-
Wow! This is exceptional. I love the detail. I see you sanded ‘flats’ on the bottom of the tyres - great idea, to make it look more realistic. One question - did you photograph with the hood shut, then glue the hinges on afterwards to photograph with the hood open?

Very nice indeed. The carbon work looks great. Is the ‘V10’ script on the engine a decal, photo-etch, or extremely skilful painting?
-
Oh so nice. Those Fuchs, that engine, that stance, the colour…. You’ve built my perfect 1:1 Beetle. Fantastic!

Very nice indeed. The decal work must have been tricky. Where are the decals from?
-
That’s beautiful.

Beautiful clean build. Well done.

Wow. You done an excellent job here. Such a clean build. I think the shape of the 308 is probably the most beautiful Ferrari, and you’ve really captured the feel of the 1:1 car. I built this RoG kit as a kid, and it looked like a dog’s dinner compared to yours. I watched loads of Magnum episodes on VHS to research the 308, and found that they used several slightly different models of 308 over the seasons. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice indeed. The Camel yellow suits it well. Is this kit the same tool as the Imia kit?

Thanks. I have a glass cabinet, but somehow dust still gets in.

Looks great in purple. I quite like the body colour rear panel where it’s usually silver.

Here's one I built a long time ago, but somehow never photographed till now. This is Tamiya's kit. It went together really well - as you would expect from Tamiya. I went to an auto paint supplier and got them to supply the correct Ferrari blue aerosol can, however the fleck in the paint is for a 1:1 car, and looks a bit odd on a 1/24 model. At the time of building this (probably around 2010), I had not discovered Zero paints or the myriad other great brands now available to us modelers. My masking skills were not up to scratch at that time, so you may notice that the silver (aluminium affect) interior trim is brush painted, as is the black trim around the windscreen. I did use a photo etch kit with this, though I cannot remember the brand now. I'm pretty sure that the UK number plates were pinched from another kit. I don't know from where, but I do know that the front one is a little wonky - how did I never noticed this before! Here are the small modifications I made... 1) The 'T' shape gear selector is the wrong shape from the kit, so I made this from scratch. 2) Added a stick-on carpet - a grey felt material. 3) Round side indicators were sanded flat, then replaced with pin heads after painting the body. Clear orange over the top 4) Scratch built new engine cover hinges using paper-clip wire. The cover operates without any wobble and stays open by itself now. Here's the finished model. It's been in the cabinet for over a decade now. Better late than never.

This is complete now and Under Glass here ?

This is my Fujimi De Tomaso Pantera GTS with a few Studio 27 photo etched parts thrown into the mix. I started this back in 2013, so a 9 year build! Here's the build thread. Sadly, I don't get much building time these days. This is the first model completed in over a year, though my BMW 2002tii is not far off now. The green paint is a rattle can from Halfords. I can't remember the exact colour, but Ford Java Green seems to ring a bell. The lower half is just Zero gloss black. The side lettering decals were applied and then Zero 2K clear lacquer over the entire surface. This was supposed to have been a simple build straight out of the box, but I ended up making a few little modifications. 1. Front and rear grills were cut out and replaced with PE parts. 2. Door handles were made from plastic sheet 3. The kit windscreen was re-shaped from the inside. Still not perfect. 4. Side marker trim removed (because I lost one of them) 5. Side glass replaced with thinner acetate sheet and rolled down door glass. 6. Exhaust trims replaced with aluminium tube. So, here's the end result. I did rush it a little towards the end just to get it off the work bench. I'm just glad to call this one done. I hope you like it. Comments and criticisms are welcome. This final image shows how I managed to get better more even light than normal for December. Snow is great for reflecting light.

This will be my final instalment of work in progress for the Pantera. I've blitzed through the last few stages without pausing for too much photography. I sprayed the exhaust (and anti-roll bar) in black and tried chrome tape for the tail pipes. I was NOT happy with this. So, I cut off the tips, ordered some 3.2mm (1/8") aluminium tube and made new exhaust tips. I'm actually really glad I did this, as the aluminium tube came out better than expected once profiled and polished. Whilst polishing, I did the mirror glass whilst still on the PE fret. That would be impossible once cut off. Rear window masked and painted Thin acetate sheet cut to size and glued in with white glue. That's it! The next pictures will be under glass.

Thanks Trevor. I could spend loads of time and effort correct the interior (I've been caught down that trap before), but that's time that would be lost for my next project. Thanks Bill, I bet it was interesting working on 1:1 Panteras. Thanks Justin. I'd dearly love to see Hasegawa, Tamiya or Aoshima do an accurate one of these with full engine and suspension detail. Thanks Bruce.

That's a nice job masking. It takes so much work to get right. I hate doing this part as there always seems to be a bit I miss and the paint creeps under the tape. I hope its not too cold for spraying in Billericay. I have suspended all my spraying activities as my workshop is sub zero.

Good job with the Tamiya spray cans. This came out very well.

I was watching a YouTube video detailing the restoration of 1:1 one of these. Close up, the welding on the chassis is not so pretty. Your model is turning out superb, and probably better built than the 1:1 item. Doesn't seem that far away from competition now?

The screen looks excellent. The fit around the edges looks nice and tight.

That looks stunning ??

Good progress ?? Wow - those wheels! Can’t wait to see them painted.

Ace work on the CF decals. It takes a lot of skill to make them look that good.
