  1. These Galaxie kits are lovely, and you've done a great job. Love seeing a straight 6 for a change.
  2. Beautiful hot rod. You get great results from a rattle can.
  3. The Xr4i is a really nice kit from Tamiya. Unusual that Tamiya did this, but I'm glad they did. Prices for these kits have gone crazy now. Looking forward to seeing this one come together. BTW the racing version is a Cosworth 500 - not a XR4i IIRC.
  4. Absolutley cracking job on plumbing the V12! Its really taking shape. I built the TWR version as a kid, but I think the regular version is much better looking. The V12 in my build is out of the box, and looks naked compared to your excellent job.
  5. Love those checkered seats. You're nearly there now.
  6. Looking good in white. I like what your doing with the interior, by cutting out the seats.
  7. Fantastic! I have never seen this kit before. You done a great job.

Wow. The LEDs make all the difference! Nice job.
  9. Time to show a little (very little!) progress on this one Painted the bulk of the interior in Tamiya 'Rubber' black. I really like this shade of black as it is really an off-black, and does not look too dark. To contrast, other parts have been sprayed Tamiya semi-gloss black. Added a little visual interest to the door panels, with a silver strip sticker. This should be chrome on the real car. The carpet was done with embossing powder, and then airbrushed over. This is the first and last time I'll use that stuff. The finish seems to be so delicate that its just flaking off. Maybe I did not use enough glue. I used PVA (wood glue). Perhaps I should have used something stronger?? Assembling the rear suspension, I noticed that the transmission shaft has a joint in the middle of it, that would not be there on the 1:1 item. Fixed! with a little filler and re-paint. Kit supplied decals added for the gauges, and then sealed with a layer of clear. Wheels done. Airbrushed in Zero's 'white aluminium'. The lug bolt heads were done with Molotow pen. This is the first time I've used that stuff - its good! Shame the tyres don't have any side wall markings - seems to be the way of all new kits nowadays. That's all for now. Thanks for watching by build.
  10. This will be very welcome. Aoshima recently re-released the Roadster as two kits; a early chrome bumper and later 'rubber bumper'. Later one includes newly tooled RoStyle steel wheels which is lovely. I'd like to build a late model rubber bumper with the Coupe body.
  11. Oh wow. This announcement from Revell has made me very happy. I'm glad they're doing the FHC too. Although I like the convertible, I just love the lines of the Coupe. I've been collecting parts for a fully detailed build for years, including the white metal parts from Gunze, and PE wires from MFH. I won't be using them now. I had always hoped that someone would do a new tool of the E Type. After seeing Tamiya's 300SL released a few years ago, I had dreamed that they may do one of these too. I'll settle for this Revell kit - its bound to be so much better than anything we have available now. I'll take at least two!
  12. Nice work. You right about the tangled mess of wires. The v12 in the 1:1 car is covered in myriad hoses and wires. Im really loving the red pearl.
  13. Beaitiful job.
  14. Rarely see one of these done. Very clean job.
  15. Beautiful build. Very clean indeed.
  16. Very nice. All that's missing is the cowboy hat on the back seat.
  17. Very nice indeed. That last picture could pass as a 1:1 car.
  18. Your first ever full resin, and you used an Airtrax kit! That is very brave. You did a magnificent job. Sounds like you experienced all the usual issues expected with one of their kits. This came out lovely. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Just GORGEOUS! Very nice clean build and beautiful paint. That red looks like a candy paint. Did you have to do it over a silver base?
  20. Just when I thought it couldn't get wilder you add drawbridge doors! Great (mad) idea - I love it! Any thoughts on the body colour?
  21. Wow this is wild! The candy blue looks great. Nice clean build, and I especially like the interior.
  22. Always loved the XJS. I was fortunate enough to own one a few years ago, albiet just a 6 cylinder. That was thirsty enough! Great looking paint job. I was thinking of using that exact paint as a sustitute for candy apple red on a 57 Chevy. I'll be watching how this build goes. Its bound to be better than the TWR version I built in my youth.
  23. Thanks for the info Geoff. I checked out the scalemodellingnow site - that looks interesting.
  24. Nice work Nigel. I really like where this is going. Wheel/tyre choice is perfect, as is the stance. 80s and early 90s copies of Street Machine magazine are my inspiration too!
  25. Very nice work Geoff. This is a really nice kit, and you're doing a wonderful job. Shame you couldn't use the PE parts for the side spears, but what you've done looks equally good. Good idea with applying masking tape either side of the trim before applying the BMF. I have a couple of questions. Can you recommend a retailer for Scale Finishes and MCW paints in the UK? And, did you say you were doing this build for a magazine article - what magazine?
