  1. Great roof rack!
  2. I love this Hasagawa kit and its great to see you doing a good job on it. I am most impressed with your spray booth. I want one of those
  3. Very nice! Is this from the Revell kit?
  4. I plan on building one chassis without the body and the other as a full car. Displayed side-by-side I think they'll quite good. Having seen some of your build threads on here Geoff, I'm sure this'll be another one of your masterpieces.
  5. I won't be starting my build just yet, but when I do I'll definitely start a thread here.
  6. Lovely to see you doing this big scale kit some justice. With this level of detail it'll be hard to tell the finished model from a 1:1.
  7. This is one amazing kit. I ordered one from HLJ which has just arrived and I have got to say the level of detail is out of this world. Thanks for sharing this build with us William. What type of adhesive do you prefer for the metal parts?
  8. Good to see this project is still on going. Keep it up - would love to see the end result.
  9. Nice work Martin. Good to hear you'll be using that 350Z engine. This will be awesome. With the engine fitted will you need to cut the bonnet? And I guess the interior is going to sit a lot further back. More scratch building work for you.
  10. Thanks for that link. I just ordered two! The GBP to Yen exchange rate is definitely in my favor. They work out as 18.80 GBP each. A few years ago I was paying 30.00+ GBP for Tamiya kits. (Note: Whenever I order from HLJ I choose the 2-5 day express courier - although it costs more, I never get clobbered with import tax!)
  11. Beautiful - just beautiful. When I saw the first pics of this I thought it was actually the 1:1 car.
  12. Great paint job and I love the throttle bodies. Very well done!
  13. Nice to see such a different take on the Beetle. I love the suicide doors. What are the plans for the drive train? Are you sticking with the VW, or are you going to use more of the 350Z? Keep it going Martin.
  14. Wow Martin, You have an excellent memory - that was over 20 years ago! I still have that '57 Fairlane. Yes - it got runner up that year, (1993 if I remember correctly). I'm sure I remember you from the shows. Did you go to the SLAM club meets?
  15. Yep - I am in the process of building a room dedicated to building models (and displaying them). Unfortunately, it is the smallest room in the house and in order to 'earn' this honor I had to buy the Mrs a new kitchen.
  16. Wow - think I'll buy two. I'd like to build one stock and the other with a V8 Hemi.
  17. The news of this kit is BIG for me. I totally love the 300SL, and the fact that Tamiya will be doing this is like all my Christmases coming at once. I don't think there is any car kit that I have ever wanted this much. I have several 300SL kits (un built); the AMT one, the Italeri one, the Humborol one, and an Airfix (which is the same as the Italeri) . I have been planning a build for many years, but I will keep these old kits on the shelf in favor of the Tamiya one now. The AMT kit is the old Frog kit dating back to the late 1960's (as far as I know). It must have been quite an advanced kit for its time, but compared to the Tamiya I think it will be no contest. The AMT is 1/25 scale (so, the wrong scale for all my other Euro cars collection), and has several proportion errors in the body. Knowing Tamiya, theirs will be more accurate.
  18. You've done a great job on this kit.
  19. Nice work! I would love to build a 1:1 '62 Vette just like this
  20. Nice job Kenneth!
  21. Utterly amazing work Randy!
  22. Hi JC, Here's a pic of mine. If you need any other pic's or measurements - let me know.
  23. I must say - you are doing a fantastic job on the Escort by adding in all the missing detail. I've got a couple of these kits (the Revell version) in my stash part built and I can say there are a lot of inaccuracies in the kit's body shape - many of which you have put right - good job! I love Escorts. They've become really desirable here in the UK over the last decade or so. I am fortunate enough to have a 1:1 RS2000 (same shape, but with the nose-cone) sitting in my garage. I done a full restoration on it and I can confirm that all the extra detail you are adding to the floor an and engine bay is accurate. Keep up the good work. I will look forward to seeing this one done.
  24. Sorry its been so long since I posted any updates on this project. Don't worry - I'll be back into it soon. Currently, I'm busy converting the spare bedroom into a dedicated model building workshop. That should make building cars more enjoyable. I simply used a hobby knife with a curved blade. running it side to side over the wiper blades till they are gone.
  25. Nice job Bruce! Colour and wheels really suit the woody.
