Next Gen Air Racer

Very cool. She did a great job. ? -
In doing some research, you are correct Snake. But, I also found I'm wrong about COPO 427 Novas. There were COPO Novas. And there were Novas with 427s. But, it looks like the 427s in Novas were installed by Yenko Chevrolet, not the factory.

I'm not so sure that the real COPO 427 cars were SSs. I'd have to do some research, but in the back of my mind, it seems to me they were non SS equipped cars. Off to some research. I'll see what I can find.

There were Chevy Nova COPO with 427s. Yenko Chevrolet offered them back in the day. The figure I've heard was there were 37 Novas built with 427s. And there are 7 accounted for today.

I'm afraid I don't know anybody. It's just that nobody has complained yet. I'm hoping it stays that way. Because I too obviously think it's funny. And my intention in posting it is not offend anybody. But, it won't be the first time I've made that mistake.

Palmer model kit history?
unclescott58 replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The big slot car fad faded out well before Palmer did. And I've never seen one of their kit bodies use as slot car. Their regular kits, not the reboxed Pyros, with the multi piece bodies would never have held up to the riggers of slot car racing. I had a few Palmers in my day. I always remember getting them for gifts from well meaning older relatives, and parent's friends, who knew nothing about models. I alway built them, and displayed them with my other models. The old I kind of I had today was their '73 Thunderbird. A terrible kit. But, a post '71 AMT Thunderbird, none the less. There is one on eBay for $65. Way more than I'm willing to pay. But, check out that cool box art! -

The guy in the picture above looks a bit like Elvis too me. This looks like a scene straight out of an old Evis movie. Evis smiling as he wins the race. Gets the girl. And then sings about it. Or both. -

I believe somebody had posted this before, and I commented on. But, now I can't find it. Despite the kit, this is still my all time favorite box art. -
Thank you for the offer, but it's a bit too early yet. Is the kit even out? And even with proper wheel covers, I'm not in rush on this one. Though I will keep your offer in mind if and when the time comes Lee. Thank you.

Meng Kids B-24

Interesting. Looks pretty good. You say it's a snap kit. Any painting done or required with the kit? -
Commonly seen by most auto makers at the time. The full size car line is considered the "true" brand name line. This goes for everybody at the time that I can remember, other than AMC.

But, would they look good on a 4-door? The Rallys and 5-spokes maybe "correct." But, neither one is something I'd associate with a 4-door Impala at the time. Good suggestions though.

Nothing here that will be taking my money. The Fairlane in that form, I have no interest in. And other two? The Coke ice chest is neat, but I got an Ohio George version I built several years ago, and I'm pleased with results. And I also have a '63 Ford I built from the Prestige Series from the 1980's. I'm waiting for something real different, like the '64 F-85 we've been hearing about for several years now.

I just can not get excited over this kit. Because from what I've seen it can not be built showroom stock. All it would have taken was to throw in a set of stock wheels or wheel covers, and I'd be all over this kit. I'm sure Round 2 is going to sell a carp load of these kits to fans of the TV show, and guys who modify their cars anyhow. But just by the missing shock wheels/wheel covers will not be seeing me buy this one.
