I've been buying/selling/trading airbrushes for a long time. I have a small collection of around 40. I've wanted one of these since a friend posted his on another forum I belong to over a year ago. It's made in Germany and they aren't easily available on this side of the pond. I purchased this from a gentleman in Germany who was willing to ship it to me. It is a Gabbert Triplex. It is a bit unusual. The body unscrews just in front of the trigger to change between the three heads. They are all gravity feed. It has three needle/nozzle/needle caps for fine, medium and heavy spraying. It is double action, sort of. The trigger does not depress for air. Air flow starts when you begin to pull the trigger back. Pulled back a little farther the fluid begins to flow. I posted this one here as I plan to use it for spraying T-Shirts and the like using water base paint. I have other American and Japanese brands I will use on models with lacquer based paint.

The Official EBay Discussion Thread

When they said they were having glitches I told them that those should have been eliminated before it was implemented. I'm sure it fell on deaf ears. They have become more and more greedy. They used to charge 10% as the final value fee. It is now 12.55% plus an additional 30 cents for something. That is a big difference. When you list an item you have the option of adding "or Best Offer". I usually listed Buy it Now items with the price set at about $5.00 more than I would take for it. I did not use the or Best Offer as I knew I could lower the price later. If your item sits for about a week eBay takes it upon themselves to add Best Offer to your listing which they set at half your asking price. I keep an eye on what I am selling and when I see that they have done that I revise my listing to take it off. I've sent them messages that I can manage my own listings and again, it fell on deaf ears. If your item sits they suggest you lower your price or send a Special Offer to the listings that have watchers. I've told them that if they want me to lower my price they should lower my final value fee. Hmmm, deaf ears. I've come to realize they do not care how much your item sells for as long as it sells. If your $200 item sells for $10 and you lose your shirt it's fine with them. They make money on the sale. That is why even on the rare occasions that I've listed auction style my starting price is at the minimum I would take for that item. They should change their name to GreedBay. Yes, I am disgruntled and fed up. Thank you for letting me vent. -

I have just gone through a fiasco with eBay as a seller. As mentioned above, eBay now manages your payments when you sell. It makes no difference how the buyer pays. The money goes to eBay. When the money went to PayPal it would be available as soon as the buyer paid. I would use part of those funds to pay for the shipping of the item. I recently had 7 items listed for sale on eBay. One sold on July 4th. My funds showed as on hold until Tuesday the 6th. I contacted them via Live Chat Tuesday night asking when the funds would be in my bank account. I was told they would be there on Wednesday between 3am and 6am. They also mentioned they were having glitches with the new payment system. When the funds were not in my account Wednesday by 9am (figuring east coast/west coast time) I called them. I was told that the funds were sent to my bank and it may take between 1 and 3 business days to show up. I received an email stating the same thing a short time later. They wanted me to ship the item before my payment arrived. I would not do that. When they told me it may take an addition 1 to 3 days I told the girl I was speaking with that I would probably cancel the transaction as waiting for my money put me past the time I needed to have shipped it to maintain my seller profile. The money was in my account this morning (7/8). Once I knew it was there I cancelled the order and refunded the money. I removed the other 6 items I had listed. I will no longer sell on eBay. Here's a good joke too. When you are setting up your "new" seller account eBay sends two payments to you that you need to verify as receiving so they know your bank info is correct. They sent me 1 cent and 9 cents. I verified getting them. The next day eBay took back those funds. I guess giving every seller a dime would have crippled their business. -
opinions on color shift paint
DPNM replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I personally like it. I have all 4 of the DupliColor Mirage paint kits that were offered. One of the Blue/Ice (HTF) and multiples of the Blue/Green, Red/Blue and Gold/Magenta. It does need the black primer coat so if that's the brand you used Bucky that is why you needed the black base coat. As mentioned above, the more curvy the body the more the color shift will show. Older body styles should lend themselves well to this more modern paint treatment. That said, IMO, it may also depend on what the paint looks like on a particular vehicle. I like the way Jim (CabDriver) has used it. Adding some type of additional custom work. Flames painted in color shift may give the appearance of motion to the flames. Other forms of custom work may also help visually. -

Excellent workmanship! It looks great. Well done. The kit made a nice road worthy flathead. -
It was great trading with you again Sam. I'm sure there will be more. I just hope the USPS doesn't add the drama this one had, LOL.

This place has the best prices on new (and some used) airbrushes that I've found in my searches on the interweb. They don't carry every brand and model but their selection is quite extensive. They carry replacement parts for some airbrushes along with a wide variety of airbrush products. Their prices are good on these too. They have a loyalty program (based on your purchase price) where you earn points to put toward other purchases or merchandise. If you are in the market for a new brush (or need some parts or supplies for yours) check them out: https://spraygunner.com/ If you are going to place an order, please use my referral posted below and you will receive 5% off of your first order: https://a.marsello.com/l/60039671f2f6ab0ed8b543a9

I have a few Badger airbrushes and this is THE place to buy replacement parts. Their prices are the best I've found. Shipping is usually fast and the shipping charge is fairly reasonable. If you have a Badger brush, and you need parts, check them out. You can find better prices on airbrushes and AB sets online but for parts they are the best. If you know of a place with better prices please let me know. If you go to the Badger website and click "Got Parts" it takes you to this company. I do not know if USA AB is a division of Badger or if they are just a company doing business with them. https://usaairbrushsupply.com/p/parts-and-accessories

Box Art Puzzles from Round2
DPNM replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think it's a great idea. I may pick up at least one. -
That does appear to be the source Mark. Thank you! It does look like the center hole was filled in with a piece of plastic and, from what I've seen since you posted, the raised parts on the top of the hood that held "vents" has been sanded smooth. Whoever did it did a good job to my eye.

It doesn't appear modified to me. The MPC kits I've looked at have the Y shape integrated into the scoop as the 1 to 1 does. This one is square. I appreciate the reply Snake. I figured you would know. I'm not ready to trade it. Not sure what all I'll do to restore it. I want to strip the chassis and interior.

Picked this up recently. From my research it looks to be an MPC model. A couple things about it have me puzzled. It looks to be molded in grey. All the pics I've seen of the MPC kit are molded in white. I can't find a pic of this hood either. I'm stripping the black off the underside of the hood to see if it is the same grey color. If anyone here is familiar with this kit I could use your knowledge. Snake?

Very well done Kerry. I like the use of the Vette nose. It gives it a whole much different look.

Had a great trade with Phil (fordf-100). I got some parts I really need. We've known each other for many many years. I used to belong to the model club he is still a member of. Great guy to deal with! Thanks again Phil.

Alice Cooper. Killer Tour.

It's cool your daughter asked you to build her a model. You did an excellent job even with the hiccup. I would think she will really like it. I like "hot" pink myself. I think it's a great color choice for some vehicles. This Willys proves it.

Thank you very much for adding the pics so I have a better understanding on what you've done so far Jim. Your ruler intrigued me also. Looks so much like it would be good for working in scale I bought a small one.

Anyone Order Paint from Summit?
DPNM replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I do the same thing on sites such as Summit. Put what I want in the cart then have it calculate the shipping. If the shipping is reasonable I'll complete the order. If not, I just delete what is in the cart and back out of it. -
You have an excellent start. I will be watching as I have this kit and I plan to build it in the nearish future. I'd appreciate more specifics, if possible, on the changes you made to the roll bar and rear end mounts. I'm not familiar with the kit so I was unaware it was "off".

postage from the US to the UK
DPNM replied to 72 Charger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I just made a trade with Dave. I sent him a 1/24 model kit in it's box to give you a size and weight reference (1 pound 1.8 ounces). I looked at the USPS International shipping site and only got confused. I took my package to the PO. The Postal worker figured out the cost, printed the label and completed the customs form from the information I supplied. The info consisted of what was in the package (plastic scale model), value (I said $30) and if it was a gift or merchandise. I said gift. The total to ship was $24.50. Seems reasonable considering how far it is traveling. It's about $12 and $15 difference from me shipping a package to the west coast. Just seems to me that if Dave (or anyone in the UK) has something you want and you have something they want it's only going to cost a bit more to ship it. Depending on size and weight perhaps. This is only my example. -
T/A Pontiac Aztek
DPNM replied to Mike 1017's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
I really like this. It's the best looking Aztek I've seen. Most creative too. I'd like an Aztek. It would need to be budget priced but I'd drive it.
