That you for the clarification of the reissue. They are still out of my price range.

May as well just let the Moderators decide amongst themselves. As to Mr Springsteen. I had the Born to Run album. The song I liked most was "Night". Then again, at the time, I owned a 1967 Corvette coupe and a 1973 custom Harley SuperGlide. Never bought another album.

In my painting experience lacquers that have a yellow tint will, over time, turn yellow. That is probably why your old clear coat yellowed. It seems today's paints are pretty much clear. I'd suggest putting some of the clear you plan to use in a glass jar to see if it looks yellow. If it's not yellowish it SHOULD not yellow over time. I can't guarantee that though.

I know there is a post on the forum where a member wanted to use a certain user name which, IIRC, may have been from a role playing game. The person who had taken it had put up 1 post, many years ago. And I would suggest a low post count on an user name who hasn't been on for years. Like 10 or less? This is one reason that I keep trying to bring this subject back to where it started. Someone can start a "Bash or Praise Mr Springsteen" on another thread.

I would REALLY like to see this reissued! It's only been kitted once to my knowledge and the prices for it are way out of my budget. ScaleMates shows this kit as 1/12. IIRC it is 1/8th. Revell, the Knucklehead again Please.

The ability to edit posts is now on a time limit. IIRC, about two days, maybe less? You will either have to update with a new post in the existing thread or start a new thread entirely. You can have threads deleted by being logged in and clicking the "Report Post" button. These go to the Moderators who can delete the entire post/thread. I've had them delete posts of mine that were trade/want ads after I've found what I was looking for. I put "Please delete, Item found, traded " etc in the reason for the reported post.

Peterbilt wrecker body into car hauler
DPNM replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You could extend the dovetail a little bit. Just looking at it, I wouldn't go too far because it may not look right because of where the body ends just behind the 2nd set of drive wheels. Unless you plan to fill in that area. You may also have to see if the car you want to haul will fit. You may have a problem if the rear tires of the car, assuming it is pulled on nose first, may be too far down the ramp where the car's frame will contact the top of the ramp. -
Art Dump Truck (Holy Cow!)
DPNM replied to Bills72sj's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
See, I said I wasn't a fan of the films. I never saw one. I know there is a Camaro in them and thought this was it. I do see Beetle in his armor now that you mention it. Thank you. -
Art Dump Truck (Holy Cow!)
DPNM replied to Bills72sj's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Looks like it should be a Transformer to me. If they can get this from a Camaro: Just imagine what you could turn this dump truck into... And I'm not a fan of the films. The dump truck also has a slight Lego look to me too. -
I was just trying to get the thread back on topic. This is listed now (12/20/2019): Today's Birthdays Arbatron (104 years old) Hasn't been on since 2014 so...?

I may be interested in signing on for a BRBO too. I have a rig I'd like to do although I am still searching for the kit I'd like. That, and I have joined the Cannonball build, again, plus I have 5 other models I'd like to work on/finish too. The rig would be for one of those 5 though.

In response to the OP, I didn't see "theboss" listing in particular but l had been looking at the list of "Today's Birthdays" for about 10 days. What struck me was the amount of people who have not visited the site for quite a number of years.

Great choice Sam! And IF I can build all the models I have planned to do in 2020 I will finish the Death Proof Challenger along with the Charger. The Challenger in DP was an homage to the Vanishing Point Challenger. As you can see, it's not too far from done.

I need a 1/25th human skull...anybody?

Rommel's Rod Two off the top of my head (so to speak): Monogram Boot Hill Express Monogram Lil Coffin All 1/24 though, I believe. -
I'm in with the Charger from Death Proof. It was an homage to the one in Dirty Mary-Crazy Larry so my license plates will be the same as the one on fivesuns (Howard's) car.

I know around here the letters are on separate boards that they lay down. I guess the painter may need to check to see if they happen to be in the correct sequential order before applying paint. And they could have gotten: POST SPOT TOPS

Thank you Kurt and Casey. I learned something . I now know what I need, where to find them and the best way to use them. Much obliged.

I'd like to add my congratulations as well. Finely executed model and worthy of the win! Top notch work.

Probably already mentioned but this irks me. First pic is what it says. Second pic is how it seems far too many people read it.

I've painted motorcycle helmets, hard hats, MC gas tanks, fenders etc, guitars. Most anything that would be considered "smaller" Not a car although I used to help a neighbor do that. I made a body for one of my son's guitars and custom painted it. I tried to learn the bass but I am not musically inclined. I did convert my bass to fretless. I made a different body also. Actually I made the body too small. I wanted a lighter bass but I shoulda made it a tad bigger. Body is walnut, fret board is maple and walnut.

Biggest pet peeves on builds.
DPNM replied to LL3 Model Worx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
One thing that bothers me, and it has already probably been mentioned, is poor photography. Usually too dark. What could really be a nice looking build can't be seen that well. Or, maybe, dark pics are used so the model can't be seen well... I have a program on my computer, Microsoft Picture It! 7.0. I usually only use the contrast auto fix, crop, and brightness/contrast. It's not a great program but it helps me adjust my pics. -
I have to give a big shout out and thank you as in the last week I've gotten parts for builds that I have in my head from three different members who asked for nothing in return. They are: Bill (Bills72sj) Vince (vintagedragcrazy) Steve (Rancherosteve) If I see any of these members with a post looking for something I have I'll be letting them know and sending it to them. I am also going to keep my eye on the two wanted sections as I will treat these gifts as a "Pay it Forward" for others. I got the kits yesterday and the book a few days ago. The kits have been started, The Vette and Willy's frames are painted flat black and a couple other suspension parts but the body's aren't. The truck is mostly painted but I have the hood, cab and interior in Super Clean to see if it will come off easy. Haven't decided if I'll (eventually) build these or trade 'em off. If I keep the hauler I will be looking for a KW or Pete cab/hood/interior for it. The book was an exciting find as I have been looking for it for about 5 years. It is the book I learned to airbrush from about 45 years ago.
