  1. Would anyone that has the instruction sheet for the annual 67 Barracuda be able to post (or message me) photos of the pages? I have an annual kit that I'd like to inventory but just can't find them online in the three usual places I use (Drastic Plastic, Casey's Proboard, and Scalemates). I don't want the instructions, just pics that I can use. Thanks a bunch!
  2. Didn't like to read that ? I've used a few of their sets over the years and while I wasn't fully happy with everything included, the main emblems I needed were "ok". Thanks Steve
  3. Just out of luck I was able to find a correct interior for a 67 already. So what remains are the stock air cleaner, correct 67 stock wheels (it now has the rally wheels), the soft top (not super important as I'll likely display with no top, and I need to fabricate the front spindles/axles. The glass is really tight so I'll just tape off really well and leave it in place and polish good after painting. I've had to do this numerous times on other restores and it works ok. Especially considering the alternative is breaking the frame. My 67 PE detail set has shipped from MCG so I'll be anxious to see how the scripting will look. P.S... I forgot to add I'll need a correct stock 67 hood with the chrome inserts as well ?
  4. So... I guess I'll have to hunt for the correct hood at a minimum. The interior seats aren't correct either, but I'm not going to stress over that unless a correct 67 interior drops in my lap ?. Thanks again
  5. Thanks Mike. So is the hood with the SS script correct for a 67? Probably not, nor is the lack of wipers.
  6. So, it's not the 67 Camaro AMT convertible annual? It's a 68 even though it has the vent windows like a 67? From what I can see, it passes for the 67 except for the scripting? Obviously AMT omitted the scripting for the "for 68" issue?
  7. I was able to finally pick up my final '67 AMT annual, or so I'm thinking. It's a built up with what appears to be most everything I'd need for a stock build (which is what I prefer to build) but my question is about the body. When I saw pix of it before I bought it I could see the scripting was absent from everywhere on the body. I assumed it the scripting was removed by the previous owner/builder, but upon receiving it and looking at it I see there was no sanding or filing done to it. The body is smooth as silk. My questions is.... did the 67 (or 68) annual AMT Camaro convertible come with no scripting on the body? Or, what do you think I've got here? I know the annual AMT Camaro HT had scripting. I went ahead and bought the MCG 67 Camaro PE detail set to add the scripting so that part is no issue.
  8. Great job!
  9. Thanks! That will work.
  10. While I don't see these two kits listed on Home | Scale Auto Model Kit Reviews & Reference (proboards.com) , I use this site in conjunction with Drastic Plastic. I check this site first as it loads the entire instructions to scroll through, whereas DP is a page turner. Not a biggie against DP though.
  11. Would someone be able to post a pic of one of the coil springs that MPC used on the 68 Corvette (and others) along with the measurements? Obviously, I have a junkyard kit that is missing the springs and I'd like to try and wind my own. Thanks a bunch!
  12. I looked in my complete 62 New Yorker kit and sure enough there were the wheel covers you ID'd. And the 64 Merc covers checked out as well. Thanks!
  13. Any guesses? Cadillac and Lincoln? Thanks!
  14. Bingo Mark! ? I have a couple of junkers/parts and sure enough it works. Thanks
  15. I can't argue with that guess. For now, I'll go with that ?
  16. Any guesses where this bumper belongs? Thanks!
  17. I've had one for years and use it periodically for stubborn things. I never thought to try it. Thanks Bill.
  18. Thanks all for the comments and the video links. I think I'll give it a try and see how it works out. Before I do, however, I'll test on a pieces of scrap that've been painted black with acrylic, lacquer, and enamel. I'll see how the peroxide affects each. It'd be pretty hard to soak the body without soaking the roof but I guess I could just repaint the roof if it comes off.
  19. Hmm.. thought I'd read it somewhere but likely wrong I guess. Thanks
  20. For the first time I'm going to see if soaking a yellowed promo in peroxide will work. I can search for that answer, but the promo I want to soak has a black vinyl top. Will the peroxide harm the painted vinyl roof? I'm guessing it might but thought I'd ask.
  21. Hmmm... I can take a look next time I'm on the bench with it. Seems like it might be an option. Thanks.
  22. After much sanding to remove fine printer lines I was finally able to finish prepping the body and priming. Before color coats I test fit both front grille, front and rear bumpers and found the front grille a skosh too wide to fit properly flush with the body side. Attached pics show various options I'd have in placing it without any mods. I could have one side flush, but the opposite would really stick out proud. Centering both sides leaves it less proud on both sides but still, in my opinion, looking funky. Sanding the width isn't an option as there is nice trim surrounding the side marker lights that I'd hate to lose. Currently from the front view the grille and headlights fit nicely to the leading edge of the hood. I considered trying to narrow the overall width of the assembly by cutting through the very center of the grille but the grille forms a peak in the very center that I think would be hard to save when I'd put the two pieces back together ?. So, lacking a spare grille to experiment with, I'm probably just going to center it and move on. As usual, I'm likely being too critical but I'm replicating a Caprice we bought new in 77 and I'd like it to be right. Centered... Centered... Flush.... Passenger side when drivers side is flush... Decent hood to grille fit when mostly centered... Venting over and done ?
  23. I just had a feeling you'd jump in Mark ?. Thanks everyone!
  24. Totally agree with the Corvair rear bumper. But, not so sure about C being a C2 Vette rear. I think the C2's were split bumpers front and rear?
  25. Hopefully these photos aren't too confusing. I'm sorting out my spare parts and these have me stumpted. Any ideas? Thanks!
