  1. That explains them being on my '61 Dart rebuilder. Thanks Mark
  2. Here's one of the four from a 61 Dart rebuilder. May have just added them from a Pontiac kit, but looking at the Johan instructions online it's hard to tell if these were included? It just has pics from the box to go by. Prolly not though.
  3. #4 kind of look Ford-ish. At least what I'm looking at... is that a crest in the middle? #5 look like Pontiac 8-lug but I'm not sure they really are. I have a set that came with a 61 Johan Dart, but don't think they may have been stock?
  4. Great build... thanks for sharing!
  5. Nice build Roger! You sure achieved the minimalist look with this one!
  6. Clean camaro... nice build Craig!
  7. Tom99 was nice to send me his. Thanks for the ebay suggestion though.
  8. Sitting tight on this build for a bit while I continue a search for it, but will likely end up using the late issue ornament one way or another. I have some ideas of how to do it too.
  9. Great build Spence!
  10. Thanks a bunch Steve!
  11. Kind of what I thought I might end up doing. Thanks Roger
  12. Wrapping up a restore of a 58 Edsel convertible and found a problem with the hood ornament this project didn't have to begin with. All along I'd planned on using the hood ornament from the current Pacer HT kit, assuming it was the same as the annual. And maybe it is. However, the mounting slot on my convertible is much larger than the newer hood ornament would use. The new one is way smaller than the hole in my hood unfortunately. And, of course I'm done with painting and chroming so any modifications to the hood to accept the smaller ornament will be tougher than had I checked before paint. So.... would anyone know if the annual hood ornament mounting base is indeed larger than the newer HT release? If so, I'd set the car aside and add the ornament to the large list of pieces I'm looking for on various rebuilds. If they're the same then I need to somehow get started on making the new one work. Thanks
  13. Beautiful build John!
  14. Both Chris. I think somewhere along the way I'd read that heavier coats wouldn't yield a shiny finish, but to rather shoot light coats from a distance. I won't say I laid down a "wet coat" on these but they were much heavier than I've done in the past. I'm happy with the results. A light polish after they're dry really helps too.
  15. So I removed and re-did the bumper chrome by using gloss black enamel vs the lacquer I used first. While I still like using the enamel better than lacquer in this case as a base I'm not sure the problem originally wasn't just poor coverage on my part. Each time I use the Spaz Stix in the rattle can I learn more on how, and how much, to apply. I see a big difference in person, but I'm not sure you guys see as much. Lesson learned I guess. And that's all part of the fun of the hobby.
  16. Great start Roger! Following....

    67 Impala

    Great build! Thanks for sharing.
  20. Will do Chris, thanks.
  21. Making lemonade out of lemons. I'm following this Les... ?
  22. I've seen factory brochures for the Polara/Matador showing the white roof accent like I used, but can't verify it was an option on the Darts. I've seen photos of Darts with that scheme but I'm not a Mopar man so I can't say for sure those were correct. I'm guessing the accents were offered on both Darts and Polaras but either way I liked it this way and went with it
  23. Looking good Dan!
  24. Yes, it's a Johan.
