  1. Great job Bill! Always nice to do builds that have special memories.
  2. Good job Tom!
  3. Love these restorations. Following ?
  4. Welcome aboard Gary!
  5. I have a '62 Bird convertible kit and I tried the glass on the Continental HT and it was too narrow to fit. Not sure if a T-Bird HT glass would be any different, or if that would fit my sedan Lincoln. I'm in need of the glass, passenger side skirt, and the hood ornament. I'll put a post in the Trading or Wanted section in the next few days maybe. Thanks Steve
  6. Have a nice '62 Continental sedan that is lacking a couple of parts including glass. Am I correct in seeing that the '61-64's are pretty much the same? It even looks like the '65's are close. If the '65's work then there are some cheaper choices to get what I need. Also, it looks as though the convertible front glass may work with the sedan? I have a '61 convertible that I haven't disassembled yet to restore so I can't try the glass in the sedan, but it looks like it might work.
  7. Just completed a good trade with Khils and I'd like to say he went above and beyond to help me with some parts I needed along with a sweet '71 Impala convertible. Thanks again Kev
  8. I think there are many of us like you here Steve, including myself. The past couple of years my dexterity for small detail work has left me (which I truly miss) and I've found myself drawn to doing restorations that only require body repair/fab, prep and painting. I've found that this change has helped my continue my love of the hobby while lessening the frustration of being unable to detail like I used to. My detailing was never to your level, for sure, but I loved it. Keep up your fantastic stuff Steve, we love seeing your posts!
  9. Is the Lindberg convertible from the same mold as the old AMT convertible annual do you think?
  10. Does anyone know if the '61 bubbletop front windshield could be used on a '61 Impala convertible?
  11. Three more off my want list. The '62 Monterey convertible is in better shape than most I try and pick up, but got a great deal on it just the same. I'll need to try and find the two front fender ornaments however. The '59 Bird should be a good project and the '60 Impala convertible was my most wanted of the three on this list. The decent box was a nice bennie too.
  12. Generally not a fan of such big hoops, but these look nice ?! Great build!
  13. Great build and lovin' that gold!
  14. Nice and clean! Great job!
  15. This '59 started in decent shape but still needed a fair amount of TLC. I used Tamiya TS-60 Pearl Green with a Folk Art Hunter Green craft acrylic roof, cleared with Tamiya clear. I'm happy with the build, although there are a number of things I'd like to do over differently ? . For my display case it's great though.
  16. Been looking for a Corsair for some time and finally scored. Need to find and fab a few things and then need to decide to do my usual restoration or not. I actually like the look of this one as is, for some reason ?
  17. Great job Andy!
  18. I stopped with SA a few years ago and now rely on this forum for literally everything. FB groups are so, so.... and wouldn't think they would ever replace the resources here. Definitely a different crowd generally speaking, than you'll find here. I'm thinking we may see an increase in traffic here on the boards should the SA forum go away too. I love it here and would be lost without it!
  19. Good looking build!
  20. Thanks for the tip on the decals Lee. I just sent my payment ?!
  21. Beautiful build John!
  22. An update for anyone following... I was able to pick up a small container of Oxy Clean and tested soaking the yellowed glass in it for 12 hours and unfortunately it didn't work. Or, if it did it was very little. Not enough to consider using the glass. I was able to score a really cheap '62 Bird from ebay and the front glass from that kit works on my HT just fine, so that's the route I'm going for the front anyway. The rear is much less cloudy than the front is, but I'll still be able to maybe fab a new one. It seems much more straightforward than making the front windshield anyway.
  23. Unfortunately, I used the last of our hydrogen peroxide to cover the glass the first time. Not sure how it is in your part of the country but I wasn't able to find any in our local stores the other day. We don't have any laundry booster here at the house but next time we're in town (30mi one way) I may pick up some Oxy Clean and give it a try. I'll still try and see if anyone has some used glass they'd be willing to donate or trade. Thanks
