  1. Beautiful car Noel. I plan on adding more detail when I rebuild these. One of the things I have been studying is the hood and how to make them open correctly like you have. If you happen to have any pics of the process you came up with, or a link to a build thread, I would be pleased if you would pm me.
  2. One of my favorite drivers. Great display.
  3. That is looking great. ?
  4. I will be more than happy to take some pictures and message you with them. Thanks Tom, they were really fun to build.
  5. Had an awesome trade with forthlin and would highly recommend.
  6. Received these today. Now I will hunt down both a Monogram and Revell 53 chevy kits to see which one would be the best donor.
  7. Things that make you go hmmm. The instrument cluster had a clear plastic part that mounted into the gauge cluster from behind, and then the decals went behind that. The more I looked at the old yellowed decals the more I went hmmm. So I seal coated the decals in hope they would not disintegrate, left them on the paper backing and then glued them in place from behind with a little white glue. I think they came out pretty good, and since you can buy the real deal in antique white, they're spot on.
  8. Looks good! Are you going to do the trim around the windows?
  9. You have it looking really good. Love your inspiration car.
  10. Sad way to get a great collection.
  11. So it's interior time. I keep scrubbing the white rubbery parts with soft scrub with bleach and I think I can live with the results. Working with thin warped plastic is real fun. I sprayed a seal coat over the old instrument decals and will give them a try. They mount on clear plastic that fits in behind the chrome bezel.
  12. That came out looking great. I can hardly wait to see more.
  13. I am hoping you can keep that killer stance.
  14. Cool! I built one as a kid and forgot all about it until I saw your post.
  15. Is it in the purple pond yet? ?
  16. Have you made it to the bottom of the box yet? ?
  17. That is one gorgeous car. ?
  18. Thanks guys ! So I have been working with the body components, and have come to the realization that sometimes you just have to be content with warped plastic. This plastic has become so brittle with age that using the hot water trick didn't even faze it, still managed to crack the floor. Three pieces to the body, main bucket, cowl, and firewall. I primed all of them, and then painted the inside of all three, then assembled and painted the outside. Turned out pretty good.
  19. Would love to see more of the Buick.
  20. Yea, they played the state fair every year, he was originally from Portland.
  21. Ha ! My first concert also....in 1989 or 90, Oregon state fair.
  22. Ditto. ?
  23. Found my glue at HL...along with a couple more things. ?
