Last minute try at the Challenger. Started more putty work on the hood, and proceeded to crack a glue joint....

That was the Towne car. In fact, a friend just sent me an old build up that still has the taxi decals on it. Do you happen to have any pics of the one you built?

WoW ! This should be cool!

Correct Steve, no plated parts. The other nice thing about these is that the windows are just thin flat plastic, so they will be really easy to make out of just about any blister packaging. Oh, and Steve, I took the X700 out for a stroll yesterday.

You guys....? Actually, it is upside down, it has a glass bottom, and I plan on sitting it on an oak base that will elevate the model so the wheels are level with or slightly above the black surround.

I found a very cheap 1/8 scale display case. Otherwise known as a 10gal aquarium. $15 at Walmart. I just need to clean up the glass and build a base for it so the car sits up higher in it.

1962 Valiant friday night special
Sam I Am replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
That turned out really well. I keep a few of those old nascar chassis around for that exact purpose. -
Great concept and even better execution.

That is one beautiful bird, as is the back story.

That looks so aggressive. ?

Thank you Noel. I appreciate the input. So I took one apart and soaked it in the purple pond. It took the old bottle testors paint right off, but I noticed it tarnished the metal. Maybe brake fluid would be better next time.

I can hardly wait to see it in the gallery. -

Beautiful car Noel. I plan on adding more detail when I rebuild these. One of the things I have been studying is the hood and how to make them open correctly like you have. If you happen to have any pics of the process you came up with, or a link to a build thread, I would be pleased if you would pm me.

One of my favorite drivers. Great display.

That is looking great. ?

I will be more than happy to take some pictures and message you with them. Thanks Tom, they were really fun to build.

Had an awesome trade with forthlin and would highly recommend.

Received these today. Now I will hunt down both a Monogram and Revell 53 chevy kits to see which one would be the best donor.

Things that make you go hmmm. The instrument cluster had a clear plastic part that mounted into the gauge cluster from behind, and then the decals went behind that. The more I looked at the old yellowed decals the more I went hmmm. So I seal coated the decals in hope they would not disintegrate, left them on the paper backing and then glued them in place from behind with a little white glue. I think they came out pretty good, and since you can buy the real deal in antique white, they're spot on.
