Finally had enough good weather to get some pics. This started out as a combo between a glue bomb and a partially started kit. One of which was an original issue. I have not completed a 1/8 build ever. Last aborted attempt was when I was 10-11 years old. Even though there are a few things I would do differently, and a few more details I would add, I am just happy to have one under the belt. I am also pleased with how it turned out.

That thing is stunning! I may have to get me one. ?

Man, I would hate to run through your house too fast. Talk about a speed trap.

This thing is going to be incredible.

Love the changes. -
White plastic gets brittle also. I have the old Revell 57 Nomad and it is very brittle. It might just be that original series though.

Yes, but did you get the Styx reference. ?

Glad you noticed. ? thanks everyone, it was fun, and a very timely build.

Looks great! Sounds like that is a good comp. I will keep that in mind when we are ready to order one. -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Sam I Am replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Met a guy who was into film cameras for many years, was an avid backpacker and took them allover for years. He hadn't touched them for 20 years, so he sold them to me. I enjoy collecting and tinkering with 35mm slr cameras. This collection is all Olympus and all one owner. Each piece he purchased new. I am tickled pink to add them to my collection. Hopefully I can get them all cleaned up this next week. -
Does anybody really care....about time?. My wife and son are both photographers, and I like to collect and tinker with cameras. So since I had too much time on my hands, and it's ticking away from me, I made my son this for his desk. I took a dead Pentax film camera, and found a damaged lens which I proceeded to gut. I used epoxy to glue the barrel back together in the position I wanted it, and installed the clock in the end.

Glad you brought this thread back up. I have been thinking about building my son a bass from a kit. I have no clue what to get as a first kit. I am handy with tools and paint, and enjoy working with wood. -
That is beautiful!

Another great trade with fordf-100. Thanks again Phil.

Love the orange one. The wheels and spoiler really set it off. I think the silver wheels on the cop car take away from it though. The black wheels made it look like it was all business.

I will be following along for sure. I have a number of 1/16, and like Modlbldr said, high on my list is 57 t-bird gasser. -
WoW ! Everybody did an amazing job. Kudos to everyone that crossed the finish line.
