BRBO2021
Sam I Am replied to JerseeJerry55's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
So here is my dilemma on the T800. I have the AMT T600 and transkit. I also have a few of the Revell dump boxes in hope to build truck and trailer. My father-in-law has driven three of these, first one was a 1996 with a cat. These pics are of the 2011 with cummins, and his current ride is a 2017 that looks identical to the 2011. My goal is to build something that resembles but will not be an exact duplicate, with only minor details added. So I think the Revell box will be close enough once the tailgate gets squared up. The only other item I need is a steering axle that is similar to the one pictured...if possible. Any and all help is appreciated. -
Chevrolet Titan barn find

Yes, and in my sorting of parts I found an almost complete GMC Astro with turbine. I compared all the pieces to the instructions and it all matches up. I also have a Junkyard dog in like condition. I think these are headed to ebay. ? -
Looking great ?

Chevrolet Titan barn find

Thanks everyone, it is fun to save them when you can. I have a few from an old friend that I need to figure out how to scrub cooking grease off of without ruining them -
Here is the old Chevrolet Titan that started out as a falling apart old built model. I cleaned it up and scavenged the missing parts to put it back together. I wanted to keep it in as close to original as I could. This makes a total of six trucks and three trailers in my fleet. Thanks for following.

I love that color!

That turned out awesome! I think you can get two more on the year. ?

Ok, here is the one I am working on. It is modeled after my old bosses daughters car. Originally a little old lady one owner with 60k miles on a 350/350 with a/c, ps, pb. We blew the car apart, painted it this color blue, changed the interior color to grays, and put in a set of bucket seats, added aluminum dress up kit to the engine and the mag wheels.

A good friend sent me a text of this car awhile ago. I think he sent you a pic of my Elcamino. Love what you're doing with it.

I have been following this thread, and one, I have never seen this type of damage before, and two, I would have used them for parts, and three...the steering wheels are on the wrong flipping side of the car!! (Get that? Flip the steering wheel and it's...oh nevermind) FOUR, you are doing an awesome job keeping parts of the original builds as part of the new. Keep it up! ?

? that's a good one. Murphys law hit again. I pulled this box out of the closet yesterday that had Mack DM parts in it. I was sorting through it to see how much I had that could be turned into a DM 600. At the bottom of the box I found one black wheel, and one blue & gold wheel. ? Anywhose... Here is the chassis pretty much completed. I am leaving all the worn finish with very little touch up. Any new parts have been dulled to match as close as possible. -
Even with all the problems, you overcame them and delivered a beautiful rendition of a 57 Ford.

I love Falcons, having a '60 Ranchero, '64 two door sedan, '65 and '66 Futura sedans, and a '62 Comet as daily drivers. I also have a '63.5 hardtop project on the far back burner. Models...I have two early Rancheros, one is going to be like my 1:1, one is going to be a gasser, and one resin sedan delivery. A trumpeter 64 Ranchero, an old 62 two door sedan, and a resin dirt track project...none of them are built. Boy am I a slacker.

I don't do this in 1/25, let alone 1/32. This is amazing work. -
Same here Les, glad you could use them.

I tried my hand at a few when I was a kid, and proceeded to ruin them. So I started collecting them again, hoping to do them justice. I have a restorable 78 Corvette that I want to do up as the pace car. I also have the Jaguar and the 65 Corvette. Thanks to a good friend, I now have a 32 Ford as well. The one that I really want, but no way I can afford, is the 1979 Trans Am.
