So I decided to rebuild...or Snakefu...this old diecast I have been hanging onto since 1998. So far I have it blown apart without damaging anything. I need to go dig up a larger drill bit to get the glass off. Plans are to repaint and detail a little better than the factory did, maybe change out the wheels and lose the bank parts. Like I said, I have been hanging around this section way too much.

Super Clean always amazes me.

Found them, and the tires just went in the pond. I look at the colors I painted this and the wide whites....man what a pimpmobile... -

I have a set of four bolt Magnum 500 style wheels in my parts box that look like they could be 13". If you are interested in them pm me. -

Thanks David, I was thinking about trying that. -
I think I enjoy restorations the most

I agree, I have a few old subjects with modern donors to really add to the details that were short on the originals. I also have restored a number of models that were built by family members back in the 60s, ones of my own from the 80s, and am currently restoring some big rig subjects that are old ebay purchases. -
I have been setting up my hobby room, which has allowed me to unpack and organize many boxes of models and get some things done that have been put off for years. One of which is stripping old paint in preparation of rebuilding. This latest one was built by myself in 1980 and painted with rustoleum spray paint. 40 year old, HEAVY, paint. 6hrs in Super Clean and it is spotless. I had forgotten it was molded in red. ? Since I am telling on myself, I painted the interior green, and hand painted wide whites on the rallye wheels...? What can I say, I was 13...

Truck kit instructions and more.

I found it very helpful. I always use Drastic Plastics fork pages but they have very few trucks. -
Stunning! Once you do the foil work it will really "POP".

That is a clean Chevelle Snake. Are you going to remove the paint and bring the original color back?

Open the hood and use as much as you can from the Revell kit to really bring it to life.

No worries Randy, your input is valuable as well.

That's what I get for not quoting the original post. ? Yours looks nice also Randy, and thanks for answering me. I would have thought a good scuff would do the job.

There is just something about a split window.....

That looks great Lee. Did you strip the original paint off before repainting, and if so, what did you use to get the paint off the metal with? Thanks

Whatever you were drinking that night...make mine a double.
