  1. There are paint brands that offer "Tire Black". However I mix my own using Tamiya Flat Black and Gray (gloss). I don't have a formula I just mix it till it looks right. These resin tires are painted with my home brew with no clear or dull coat applied.
  2. Really like your paint finish, can I ask what paint you use?
  3. Don't know the other option(s) but like this one.
  4. The average of a set of numbers is simply the sum of the numbers divided by the total number of values in the set. For example, suppose we want the average of 24 , 55 , 17 , 87 and 100 . Simply get the sum of the numbers 24 + 55 + 17 + 87 + 100 = 283 and divide by 5 to get 56.6 For your example Tom it would be the total awarded prize money divided by the total number of prize winners: $160,554,599.39 / 49,141 = $3,267.22 per winner - average.
  5. Nice color scheme.
  6. Thanks Edgar.
  7. Custom builds always take some trial and error - you'll get there.
  8. Looks like a great project.

Thank you gentlemen. It was a challenging but very rewarding project. Glad to have a chance to honor Mr. Gurney's legacy.
  13. Thanks Randy - much appreciated my friend. I follow your builds Tim and am envious of your skills (Randy's as well) - most impressive. My intention was to leave the cleaner exposed through the hood. However once I created the opening, this left an awkward profile with just the remaining portion of the center bulge ahead of the air cleaner. The hood scoop allowed me to hide this awkward line. Back in the day my Dad owned a four-door '61 and later a '69. I have been hot roding Falcons in my head for decades. Nice to finally build one at least in scale.

Thanks Clay, the decals are exceptional!
  21. Looks like another great build in the works.
  22. I like to use plastic rod for axles on my Cobra builds. You could also cut longer wire axles from a coat hanger, should be about the same gauge.
  23. I use standard solid styrene rod to make mine. Bend it with my fingers or round nose pliers then set the shape by quickly heating the rod over a candle. Takes a little practice and you will screw up form time-to-time. Use the same technique to make roll cages.
  24. Thanks James. Kurt, she's off the trailer clean for a weekend of racing. I did do some subtle thin/wear spots on the paint, they are more obvious in person. I've never attempted serious weathering but would like to learn those techniques.
