  1. I've been working with one of these so I'll pass on a couple of things you might want to consider. Try to get the whole engine. Don't try to put the SOHC heads on a regular 427, they just don't play well together. Calnega Castings has a kit. Realize that this engine is WIDE!!. It won't work in all applications without surgery. I wanted to fit it with twin turbos for a 1956 Ford truck but there was no room on the side. Have to go with just the dual quads. I do love the engine though, and I'm a Chevy guy. Have fun.
  2. Here is a comparison from another thread. I hope this shows. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=83896#entry1088941
  3. Nice work. I've got the 458 so I'm taking notes.
  4. There has been some reference to Gibson engines being slightly larger than scale, thus a turbo of the next size is required to make it look scale. Anyone experience that?
  5. Another reason they call us Slowhio!! Nice build.
  6. Wow, great start.
  7. I've always loved big block Cougars. I've seen that engine issue before with AMT. Have fun!
  8. Glad to see that the problem was solved, but I have a question. One resin seller indicates that you shouldn't use plastic paints on resin, but an automotive type. I've got two bodies that I'm working up to build and wonder whether the type of paint matters or not. Any thoughts?
  9. I've been procrastinating on getting containers to have the 72 hour emergency water supply. I think this might get me going as we use the same lake for water!!!
  10. Good engine choice. Well done..
  11. Well done. Some good ideas on that car.
  12. I might be wrong, but there seems to be a theme to your builds. Nice collection.
  13. Tubbs, CC is okay depending on your lifestyle. Taxes are high but amenities close. Hated when LBJ left but glad he's back. JM is a second string QB. When he earns his wings I'll root for him too, but right now I don't even read about him. Thanks for the NE Ohio love everyone. We get a bad rap but really its a great place to raise a fam.
  14. Sorry, haven't been on for a couple of days. I'll mail them today.
  15. Nice work. Will be a real bad boy!
  16. I love these kinds of builds. Out of the box so to speak! Nice fab work.
  17. Hey Val, PM your address. I've got a pair from a resin engine I'm using FI on instead. 1/24th scale.
  18. I think that we should post whether or not we accept criticism on our profiles, and if someone feels compelled to comment they should check there first. I don't mind constructive criticism myself, but we live in a world with different types of people. Say a person has a disability, and is truly doing the best they can. Is it really our place to criticize their work? Is it necessary? I've seen some models that have flaws in some areas but are killer in others. No one is perfect, and not everyone wants to be. Just sayin'.
  19. Are you talking about Dominators?
  20. Sweet! i've always loved that car. I was just looking at a MkII for a future build. Yours makes me want it more even though it won't have the steerable wheels, etc.
  21. Haven't bought a funny since I was a little feller but this one intrigues me!!
  22. Truly rad stuff!!
  23. Sweet. Well done model.
