  1. Thanks Ira! Well today's update will be in the master cylinder area as mentioned previously. I got a piece of that copper wire from the fuel pump relay donor and went to work. Although it's unpainted, here's the results, Still a little tweaking to do but there for the most part. I'll be painting this and finishing it off late today or tomorrow morning. It took about 3 different tries to get it this far. Brake lines are next and then the brake booster vacuum fitting and line.
  2. Thanks Bruce for the encouragement! I'll see if I can get it posted fairly soon.
  3. Dang Mike I dunno what to say except thanks for such a compliment (and the laugh). I do feel like you all here have largely benefited me. I may take what I see and twist it into an idea that will work especially if I lack the tools or skill set that I don't currently have yet. My goal during a build is simple: I compete with only myself and my past work to get better than I was before. If I happen to bring something to the table that somebody can use then that's a good thing but make no mistake, it is all of you good folks here who are helping me. Thanks pal, Joe
  4. LOL! Brake lines=yes. Brake light pressure switch=no. Brake reservoir cap retainer=yes.
  5. Thanks Tim and Dan! Hopefully I can get this part of it finished up pretty quick. After that I'll be focusing on the master cylinder.
  6. I have some clean up to do around this general area, paint the cap and position and glue the reservoir in but here's the windshield washer reservoir with "fluid" in it.
  7. This is rich in detail and skill!
  8. Now that sir......................is cool!
  9. Man this is cool! I have totally been missing this one in the line up!!
  10. Ok folks. I just couldn't leave the molded in windshield washer reservoir in there. 1.) I couldn't do much with the forward part of the reservoir due to the close quarters. Here I have the concept of the w/s washer fluid down but the application............well.........sucked! and 2.) because I have a second kit of this all molded in white I wanted a the white plastic water bottle "look". Sooooo.. We cut it from the other kit and trim things up a bit ...and walah! A donor bottle.. Then we cut the original bottle from the fender and clean things up here a bit.......... and test fit..... This all may seem a little extreme but it didn't take me all that long to do and I feel a little more confident in my graphing skills than my close quarter painting skills. Still gotta apply the bright blue for the w/s washer fluid and hit 'er with a coat of flat with a drop or two of white in it for that fluid inside bottle effect. Hopefully will be back at the bench tomorrow. I ended up coming home early and this was bugging me so much and I was still under medication and feeling up to this ...so I took advantage of it.
  11. Looks good! Nice work!
  12. Ok I didn't do Jack you know what this morning due to having the crud! One day of backwards progress ...er...regress and one day of no progress. I've gotta get busy!!!!
  13. This............is great!! Nice graphing in job so far!!
  14. Now this..............is the stuff I like!!! Man whadda job!!
  15. I like the carpeted area Ira! No computer monitor? lol
  16. Well I’ll start by saying that this build has totally changed direction from what it started out as. When I started this thing back in the first part of November I thought I was going to simply paint a replacement hood , replace a missing rear spoiler, replace a missing master cylinder and touch up here and there and it all be a done deal by Christmas time. I can tell you now here on the 13th of January that………did NOT happen!!! This build / rebuild has taken me down a road that I have never been down and encountering issues I’ve never dealt with in the world of modeling. So far I’ve met a lot of good people along the way and have developed not only new skill sets but have gained some friends along the way. I still have a couple of months to go with this and am looking forward to getting to know folks on this site better and hopefully contribute something back in return for the friendly help that I’ve gotten so far. In short it’s just a word of gratitude to all who have helped me out along the way here and to halfway explain myself as to the turn of direction with this build from what started out as a “touch-up” to a full blown re-construction event. You guys are da bomb, Joe
  17. Thank you Dan! Will be working in the engine compartment again today. Hope to get this wrapped up at some point so I can move on. lol Well I spent an hour this morning spinning my wheels. It was my first time simulating washer fluid in the w/s washer reservoir. I do have the concept down and while I'm not striving for the unreachable goal of perfection, I am striving for the "acceptable" range. I'll have to start over with it as I spent more time trying to repair it than I did just scrapping the "progress" and starting over. Will be stripping it off tomorrow morning and hopefully give it another whirl Thursday. Dangit!
  18. Lookin good Tom! You know I once thought of building 3+ kits at one time................and then I woke up! Whew! That was a close one! My hat goes off to you for being able to not only build 6 of these things at one time but being able to keep everything organized and straight enough to do carry this all out. You da man!!!
  19. LOL !!!!! I'm having a hard time believing that .
  20. I was wondering that too..................
  21. Where tha hek did you come up with this? This is fantastic!! (Oh BTW...Jesse just barely beat me to the guess on that Revell 67 Camaro---I had a hunch...lol)
  22. You are one busy modeler Ray! Lookin' good dude!
  23. Ok there's not much of an update for today other than the fact that I've got some stenciling on the voltage regulator and I have the horn painted and have the wiring mostly completed for it. First the voltage regulator. Now the stenciling that's there is NOT correct but to the casual onlooker it will blend with the rest of the detail in the engine compartment. I managed to take some 1/48 scale stencils that I had from an Eduard F6F Hellcat kit I had and break it up, then applied it and and a coat of Microsol and clear coated it to make it look more "printed on". I'll end up routing the electrical leads under the existing wire harness at the rear of the engine that I already have in place.. The horn electrical leads/ harness is completed and painted. Looks like the super glue coating did it's desired effect with what looks like wires shrouded by tape/ wrapping with the two leads visible just before the horn. I may go over the electrical "wrapping" with a coat of semi-gloss clear. Now hopefully I can move on to more tangible progress with this build for cryin' out loud! lol
