The two arched windscreens side by side is sometimes called Brooklands style. Google that name and you'll surely see several examples.

Started a new master...
misterNNL replied to Repstock's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Amazing attention to accurate detail on a master that requires every single part to be scratch built. I think there might also be a market for a resin cast model of a large luxury RV motorhome. I can see those being built into fancy tour busses like those used by rock bands or country and western groups. That would lead to a brand new market for custom decals for side sheet graphics. -
Are we having fun now or what?

I am actually hoping those not already in the choir will consider joining and be thankful for anything new in vintage oriented polystyrene.

We might want to remember here that we should but (or not buy) this kit based on what it Can become and not wether or not we like the box art or the wheels or the headers. IMO all kits are actually raw material. We take that raw material and turn it into our individual version of what we each envision at can become.

53 fords, started woody wagon, then lookin for parts
misterNNL replied to damodelguy az's topic in WIP: Model Cars
An admirable stable of Fords under construction on your bench. I see a lot a sanding in your future my friend. Thanks for sharing. -
Personally I prefer to use bass wood for those wooden parts. It's readily available at Hobby Lobby where they carry a large supply of all sizes. It sands to a smooth finished surface and works great for weathered wood parts. This is looking great. BTW is that grille shell made from aluminum foil ? Very clever!

Welcome back Bob. This indeed the golden age of model building and these forums are the perfect place to find advice and inspiration.

There is no tank on the Inogen system. These devices literally extract oxygen from the air and delivers it to you via the canula that you wear. Inogen offers several different models that can deliver various liters of oxygen in whatever level your doctor prescribes. My wife is currently on 2 liters. The only limit with that system is how long you battery lasts. Normal battery life is four hours so I certainly would recommend buying an extra battery. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

We had some freezing rain and then a couple inches of snow on Thursday. I looked out today and saw two neighborhood boys shoving it by hand. They never asked for a dime for their act of kindness, just good kids helping out an old man.

My wife has COPD do to kemo nearly 20 years ago. She is still able to travel and be active due to her Inogen portable oxygen concentrator. Not cheap by any means but it only weighs about 2-1/2 pounds so it's pretty easy to carry and much easier to use.

You are correct my friend. There are several true hobby shops in Columbus , a couple of which have been in business since the early 1950's. That is sustainable when there is a large and diverse population as a customer base, Of course most have adapted with the times and are offering what the times demand such as radio control vehicles and now a huge Gundam following. I belong to the Buckeye Sale Auto Club in Columbus but must travel 85 miles each way for the monthly meetings. Great group of members and we are hosting our annual Buckeye Classic contest the 7th of March at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.

All the more reason to forge ahead and build what you like the way you like to see it built. Only strive to please yourself and let others see the wisdom in what you choose.

I just bought a 1/2 oz of Model Master # 2732 Chrysler engine red enamel bottle paint at a hobby shop in Columbus,Ohio today to replace some that had dried up. The price was $ 4.05 which in itself is bad. Then I did the old "how much would that be per gallon" math and was really shocked that it works out to $ 1,036.80! Guess we should be thankful Model Master co.isn't in the gasoline business. A fair mark up is OK, but "gloriosky Zero" that's a lot of profit somewhere in the supply chain!

I have used similar stuff on my dioramas. We had a very wet year here in Ohio last year and the North side of our storage shed roof sprouted some interesting Fungi which I harvested and dried looks good in the right places. I'm always on the outlook for stuff like that.

I agree that this could easily pass for the real thing. Very well done indeed.
-
Nicely done. Too bad so many builders shy away from resin offerings.
-
Excellent work and attention to details. What scale is this?
-
Nice that you have returned to the hobby Butch. Build what you like the way you like it and never judge yourself by what others are able to accomplish.
-
I believe this subject has come up before. Seems that someone commented that one of the 3D printer companies had a couple different versions available. One was full detail and very expensive. The other had no interior and was therefore less expensive. I have no idea how to find that thread, maybe someone else does.

Outstanding work and attention to detail. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Nice work on the Frenzel blower. The originals real items are very rare now with only about 12 known to exist. You build is an obvious nod to cancer survivors which ii great thing to do. My wife of 56 years is a two time 20+ year breast cancer survivor so I personally know how that can turn your live upside down. Thanks for sharing.
