There is a very quick and simple answer to whether or not your sleep apnea machine is on the recall list. Call your machine provider with the serial number of your unit. There is a national toll free number to call that will tell you immediately if yours is on the recall list.

Looks like .025" sheet to me. Very well planned and executed from here. -

1941 Chevrolet tanker
misterNNL replied to landman's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I have a tanker idea cooking in the back of my mind ax well. I bought a bag of resin cast stuff a few years ago at a toy show that includes a '30's tank with a separate rear hose compartment, pumps, air pumps, etc so I might have to use all that as the start of a period diorama. Also have resin model A cab and fenders available so all I'm lacking is commitment. -

The spring mount bracket shown here is a study in art deco streamline design. This might just as easily have been a square-ish and uninspired piece of steel but instead it is a beautifully crafted integral component part worthy of being shown here. Thanks for posting it.

Top shelf model. The real ones are quite rare IIRC as Chevrolet used left over '61 hardtop roof sections mated to '62 sedan bodies. In '62/'63 I only ever two real ones on the road. This one's a contest quality car.

The cars of the "Jet Age" were indeed great designs. We could always look forward to completely new designs every year in the showrooms. I remember piling in cars and driving to the dealers to gather the color brochures to be drooled over later. Good times.

This will indeed make an interesting build. There are a lot of a ways this could be finished. I'm tuned in for sure. -
About the only thing missing here is a salt spinner device on the back.

Went to local Pizza Hut tonite for the first time in a while. The menu has no prices! Are you kidding me? The waitress explained that you simply scan the QR code on the back of the menu with your smart phone and then the prices will be available. Really? My wife has a basic phone and I don't have a phone at all. IMHO another step backwards for us all.

Just a constructive suggestion for future posts, consider taking your photos against a less cluttered background like a neutral colored sheet of poster board or craft paper. That allows the viewer to see more of your work and less of the stuff around it. Good luck with the '29.

Where do you GET inspiration?
misterNNL replied to iBorg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I still buy an occasional magazine if the $ 10.00(!) it costs has the inspiration content I require. Lately that has been 'Ol School Rods. I also visit the Oldmotor.com site on a daily basis for their unique content of vintage photos. -
Those flames are "bassakward" I think.

Very sad to report the unexpected death of a close friend and master model builder Charles(Chuck) Helppie. Chuck was hospitalized for 15 days in his home state of Michigan before passing yesterday from kidney complications. He was one the original founders of our original NNL in 1980 and as I personally remember it actually said"I guess that makes us nameless nation luminaries " at the infamous first gathering in my garage when the whole concept was conceived. Chuck was a master model builder of the first order having been a prolific award winner in the MPC contest era years. Anything he could imagine for his models he had the talent to scratch build. He was several years into a McLaren build in preparation for the next Salt Lake contest in '23 when he passed. Anyone who him was subject to his razor wit and unique sense of humor. RIP Chuck!

I remember talking to a fellow whose grandmother bought him his model kits when he getting started building models in the early 1960's.She also made sure that he would show her the finished product before offering to buy him another kit. After finishing the very first one to his taste by selecting just optional pieces he actually preferred he probably revealed it to his grandma hoping for her approval and being allowed to pick his next kit. Much to his surprise she asked to see the box the kit had originally come in. She looked into the box,saw the left over optional parts and decals and was very displeased and not smiling. The young man asked what was wrong then got a surprising answer. Grandma was raised in a time when waste of anything was not acceptable. She asked why he didn't use everything and told him that was wasting her money and would not buy any more kit unless every single thing included was used. That of course lead to future model with lots of scoops, side pipes, louvers, antennas and decals. Great perspective on what used to be included and has since deleted.
