  1. Your "bird boat" is an inspired project and will be a fun one to follow. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.
  2. Very slick. Please consider starting a forum post featuring this boat !
  3. You've done a massive amount of work on a complicated design theme. Good luck with the sisypean task of body work and of refining all the hick ups in the body work. Many radical designs do not survive this stage of the build and end up going back into a box to worked on "later". Stick with it and keep us updated on your progress.
  4. What are you going to use for headlights on this Willys coupe Jim ?
  5. I watched some Fast Eddie videos just now and he explains a lot about this truck. It is a real '64 Chevy C10 that he first rode in at age 6 and bought from his dad at the age of 18. All the fire damage and rust is faux finish paint. He shows a section of the bed cover that is carbon fibre but shows rusty finish. Other sections are crazed like fire damage but again is faux paint. Interesting stuff. Who made the resin body for this model ?
  6. That roll cage/chassis looks impossible to me. What a work of art all by itself.
  7. Very nice model. It checks all three of my favorite automotive must have boxes...low,black and fast.
  8. Was the teardrop trailer behind your '41 Chevy pickup model a Flintstone resin piece?
  9. The pulleys used to be available from Ron Parks aka Parts by Parks. As to an aluminum drive belt I would use flat aluminum wire.
  10. Thanks for posting those links. I particularly like the of you and I shaking hands with Chuck Helppie and Tim Boyd looking on. The absolute best thing there is the huge and very genuine smiles on everyone's faces.
  11. I have a soft spot for these '62 hard tops. I owned a real one long ago when I wore a younger man's clothes. Always one of my favorite cars.
  12. Outstanding project! I applaud your body style choice and attention to details. I love the attitude the side shots reveal in your photos. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Love it .Those were massive vehicles.
  14. I figured it was something like that. Your surgical approach tp the custom work is refreshing to watch.
  15. IMHO the only detractor of this project is the "toothy" look of the grille. Maybe it's the photo angle, looks out of kilter to my old eyes.
  16. Thanks for posting your progress, This is type of work that inspires a lot of us turn things up a notch of three.
  17. Nice to have another new modeler here. Have fun and build what you like.
  18. First of all thank you for your service as a Marine. Glad you're back to the work bench after other priorities interrupted. Your enthusiasm is obvious. Enjoy all the benefits the forums have to offer. This truly is the new golden age of modeling.
  19. Hobby Lobby has the Tamiya weathering sets in their model car paints section and with their weekly 40% coupon available on line they're not too costly.
  20. I have a great idea(?). How about we ALL wait until this shows up at our favorite book source (remember books stores?) ,pick it up,flip through it to decide if it suits us based on content and finally either buy it or put it back on the shelf. Problem solved!
  21. Is the resin engine you bought made by The Parts Box in Australia?
  22. Very subtle rake. Kind of like the front tires have two pounds less air than the rears:)
  23. Pretty nice finish for brushed on paint in quart cans. Of course Santa has several hundred years experience in making toys and plenty of elves to polish out any brush marks.
  24. I like the fact that this project is being built without a visual overload of chromed everything bling. The use of dark metalizer on the induction system is a great choice. Great thread to follow.
  25. This really has that " I live on a dirt road" look going on.
