Yes,that was the one. He put some sort of a very small spiral piece along both rocker panels. When I Asked him what they were he replied "QED' s". When asked what that meant he replied"questionable aerodynamic devices". Yes he just crazy enuf to have one of the founding members of the MALay my house in 1980. He drove an El Camino the had at one time been decorated with peel and stick flames on it's rocker panels. Those had come off but the adhesive was still there. That adhesive had collected enough road dirt to be visible. We dubbed it the "Glue Flame Special"

Kind of reminds me of a reversed '50 Studebaker coupe built long ago and far away by close friend and full time crazy person Andy Martin. That was a few decades ago and caused quite a stir whenever it was shown. I remember asking him after seeing it for the first time if it had inspired by him having born breech:-)
  5. Glad you joined. Be sure to share your builds with us.
  6. Sounds like the forums will help you connect with like minded modelers in your area. Hope it proves to be very positive for you.
  7. Glad you joined Graeme. Hopefully your experience here will be very positive for you.

  9. Glad you joined Joey. Welcome to ADD central HQ. Hope you will find inspiration to keep you building and answers to any questions that you have.
  10. Flintstone can supply you with both the regular HHR and the panel version. I have both in my stash.
  11. With sunny weather here in central Ohio and temperature in the mid 70's a lot of cool stuff was on the road. I saw a '40 Ford panel truck street rod, two C8 Vettes(1 red and other bright blue), a '67 Fairlane convertible and a Bentley coupe. A lot of eye candy on a beautiful weekend.
  12. Great piece of American automotive history. Very few of us have any understanding of what was involved returning to "normal" after a world war. Let's hope we never have to experience that again. I watched this twice simply to take in all the various vehicles shown. Thanks for sharing this with us.
  13. We modelers don't very often get an opportunity to directly tie our family to our hobby. What a great thing to do! Thanks for sharing this with us.
  14. Excellent solution to your problem, Be sure to keep us up to date with your progress.
  15. IMHO I would move the wheels inboard as their location would intrude on the customers getting up to the counters at two of the three possible locations.
  16. I am looking forward to seeing this one finished and posted for us all to enjoy.
  17. Ted always had a smile and hearty hand shake. He had uncanny ability to rearrange body panels and chop tops that would leave me shaking my head wondering why I didn't think of that. I know he was married and suffering with diabetes. My heartfelt condolences to his family.
  18. I sometimes use either rubber cement or C.A.to adhere paperback sandpaper to make a sanding tool for a special application where there isn't much clearance and there isn't room for double sided foam tape.
  19. I will sometimes measure a part in question with my digital caliper(about $7.50 @ harbor freight) then multiply that by 25 the answer is that part in 1/25th(I think)
  20. I suggest that you Google, then buy a Dremel Stylus model. I have had mine for a few years and whole heartedly recommend this particular tool. I am always using this for something, I polish small metal with it and with the Dremel stuff I already have in my stash it has a bunch of uses.
  21. Don't be envious.....be inspired!
  22. A little Googling finds that Louis Chevrolet' s brother Gaston was killed while driving a green car at Indy in 1920.
  23. Great work with nice panel fit and finish. Thanks for sharing your skills with us.
  24. Thanks guys, that answers my question. But you have to promise you won't tell my mom I was sniffing my glue again:)
