  1. Resin from what I recall. Gary's main interest is sports and racing cars.
  2. I've seen this with my own eyes and let's just say it is very impressive.
  3. I was wondering about the coupe also. I know there are many obscure Japanese kits of GT40's etc. so I'm guessing it's a motorized kit without an engine. If I'm wrong and it's a full detail kit then I want one. ?
  4. Dang JC - you are putting me to shame. I have to see this in person sometime. I am out of town but will post pics when I get back.
  5. Darn. Keep the builds coming though. I saw a J-Car on the top right. I actually built one and recently got another one. I have no idea why other than it was a good price and it's the only 1/2 clear body model I own.
  6. Air cleaner decal. The hipo would have chrome valve covers and Shelbys had the cast ones.
  7. To the surprise of many the block and everything but the valve covers and air cleaner are black. The rest is gold. Only the hipo engines had the chrome air cleaner and valve covers. So even 65 Shelby engine should be black. Ford blue was not used until 1966. Needless to say there are many restored cars out there that are incorrect as people assume the corporate blue was used from day one.
  8. Just picked this built up on Sunday. It's missing some parts but nothing that I cannot get from the 69 MPC Mustang or elsewhere. The prices on the unbuilt ones are insane so this seemed like a good way to pick something up I didn't have I rescued an MPC Mach1 many years ago and made a Twister so this one will probably a 351 with the shaker hood scoop.
  9. 7:30 this morning. Unfortunately a lot of only one party running unapposed.
  10. Light green metallic (Toyota) might be a close match and you can probably find it in a Duplicolor spray can. I will not tell anyone it's a minivan color.
  11. Well said Gramps. I've have not bought any 1/18 in a few years. They just take up too much space and either inexpensive and low quality or expensive with less detial than ones in 1/24. Sadly with the demise of FM and DM models the market is being flooded with a lot of lower quality and price models. Not necessarily;y a bad thing as they are more affordable and you do not feel like you;re ruining a museum model if you decide to add detailing or even do a body color change. As others have said, the few kit manufacturers have ignored making some cars and the diecast fills the void for some. 1!/43 scale has a lot of variety but does not cut it with most US collectors. I've got a hundred or so kits and diecast in 1/43 and the companies making that scale make some really models price them accordingly. I've never seen kits or diecast as one being better than the other, if the subject matter interests me and the quality and price are reasonable I'm likely to buy either.
  12. I've has my eye on this kit from time to time but never bought one (yet). It is certainly one of the more unusual versions of the Coupe inspired by Mr. Brock. I guess you will have to paint it this shade of green if you're going to do a period correct version.
  13. JADA. It's about 1/32 scale.
  14. $7 at Walmart. Nice paint scheme.
  15. Great pictures. Anyone get any close ups of this build?
  16. Saw this one on Facebook by a Japanese builder. He corrected the hood and reshaped the front end and replaced the grill with mesh screen.
  17. If anyone is looking for J car decals I saw these on Ebay.
  18. Yes but that's a moot point since no one is left from those teams. I went to some Senators games as a kid at RFK stadium before they moved to Texas. The NATS are DC's team now and it was exciting to see them win all four games in Houston to take the title.
  19. As you can see from these builds (some up to 30 years old) there are a lot of options for the engine compartment from resin parts to bodies to parts from the AMT 67GT350 kit. You'll notice the grille opening is body color and only the grille and trim should be chrome. Looking at my older builds I would have added more parts but there was only a limited amount of resin parts available back in the old days. I apologize if I have hacked the thread but I enjoy this site very much and try to pass on some tips and I learn so much from others builds.
  20. I thought the same thing.
  21. Very nice stang and amazing paint. ? I wish AMT had figured out another way for the rear panel to attach to the rear quarters. A little better engineering would result in not having the large seam under the end caps. I went back to look at my builds and it must have annoyed me so much that I "fixed" the gap.
  22. Yes this kit is still around since AMT never bothered to convert the 67 GT350 to a 67 or 68 GT500 for some strange reason. I guess someone would ask them if people still buy this 50 year old kit why make a new one. Anyway, you did some great mods, especially the exhaust system and door handles. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see under the hood. When I've built this kit I always end up bending the front bumper ends down as they seem to want curl up. Very nice work indeed. I also like that you cut the stripe at the doors versus one continuous decal.
  23. Slow progress but I like these mufflers a lor more than the incorrect cherry bomb kit resonators. On to the engine.
  24. Looking more and more like Game 7 and let the best visiting team win. Strausburg is a beast and we've got Max on deck assuming they can hold the 5-2 lead with only three outs to go.
  25. You're welcome. Glad to help out. Vamach1
